Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Rochester. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Circa £73,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and maintaining excellent customer relations
- Managing team, or teams of teams depending upon value and complexity
- Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project
- Driving ownership of Work Packages and tasks throughout the project team
- Managing the project or bid to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved
- Using project management techniques, to enable early disclosure of problems and effective implementation of mitigation actions
- Achieving the agreed project cost, sales, margin and cash flow targets
- Accountability for performance and delivery of program(s)
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Proven track record in delivery of a project or bid within tight timescale in a high pressured environment to ensure all milestones and objectives are achieved
- Using project management techniques, to enable early identification of problems and implementation of mitigation actions
- Skills of developing and maintaining excellent customer relations
- Experience of all aspects of a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project
Desirable:
- Previous experience in Aerospace/Defence business
- A formal project management qualification (e.g. APMP, PMQ, PMP or Prince 2) or equivalent experience
- Broad cross functional business experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent – business or engineering preferably
- Experience of mentoring and coaching

The Project Management team:
This exciting opportunity is within the Project Management Team at Electronic Systems at Rochester. You will be leading a multidiscipline IPT which could be anywhere within the lifecycle of cradle to grave for our product development of military and commercial products.
You will have the opportunity to work on a portfolio of projects with a rough estimate of £20 Million in value. Some travel will be required to various sites and globally on an ad-hoc basis.
