About the business unit:

Mott MacDonald’s support services are the driving force behind our organisation enabling us to run efficiently and effectively. The team works collaboratively to offer specialist advice, best practice and technology to all areas of our business specifically designed for our global reach.

About the role:

Working with IT Operations Centre Management, the Business Applications Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of the 3rd line IT Business applications support Service.

The Business Applications Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our applications perform to a high level while adhering to Mott MacDonald's policies and procedures.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems Knowledge: An understanding of ERP systems (preferably Deltek), including their architecture, modules, and functionalities.
  • Functional Expertise: Business Processes: Knowledge of business processes across various domains (finance, supply chain, HR, etc.) to align ERP solutions with organizational needs.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Incident Management: Knowledge of ITIL methodology. Proficient in handling incidents, prioritizing tasks, and resolving issues promptly.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills to interact with business users, 4th line IT teams, and vendors. Work closely with the wider applications teams helping to define support requirements and improvements to service across Business Applications.
  • Vendor Coordination: Ability to collaborate with ERP vendors for support, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Managing a team of Business Application support analysts, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity.
  • Motivational Skills: Inspire and guide team members to achieve goals and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Customer Service: Deliver an outstanding customer experience by focussing on our employees needs and providing timely resolutions with clear and regular communication within the agreed SLA’s.

Candidate Specification:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of a global ERP system.
  • Experience of IT Service management best practice, especially Incident, Problem and Change Management
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent relevant qualification in an IT related discipline or relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Management best practices, ITIL V3/V4.
  • Experience in ServiceNow or similar ITSM Tools
  • Experience in providing support for Deltek Maconomy or other ERP system.
  • Experience of working in a global organization.
