Job Description

Job Description

Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?

Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Matter.

You implement Mondelēz International’s sustainability programs for a specific spend category. In addition, you coordinate stakeholder needs in your region(s), and collaborate with procurement teams and brands, corporate affairs, external program consultants and partners.

How you will contribute

You will ensure that Mondelēz International’s sustainable agenda for a specific sustainability focus area stays on track by taking the lead in developing an effective implementation plan. You will track initiatives and encourage performance improvement to further develop the programs. In addition, you will:

  • Lead and coach procurement teams to embed the sustainability agenda.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships on sustainability in relevant business units.
  • Represent Mondelēz International at relevant forums in the region.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in:

  • Corporate sustainability, either through work experience in a company or through consultancy experience with companies on sustainable sourcing.
  • Building, maintaining and influencing stakeholders.
  • Comfortably networking and influencing others who are at least two levels up in the organization.
  • Educational achievements and business experience that demonstrate the intellectual capability needed to have credibility in the business.
  • Expertise in sustainable sourcing, water deforestation, human rights, procurement of agricultural raw materials and supply chains.
  • A self-starter who loves defining and delivering ambitious goals.
  • Modelling trust, integrity and perseverance.

More about this role

What you need to know about this position:

You will lead the development and implementation of Mondelēz International’s climate and environmental agenda across Europe (MEU), with a dedicated focus on carbon , water & waste reduction, and energy efficiency. You will translate global sustainability commitments into actionable regional roadmaps, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and drive measurable progress against our environmental targets.

This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of environmental ambition and operational reality — working hand-in-hand with R&D, manufacturing, logistics, and supply chain teams to make decarbonisation happen on the ground.

Climate & Carbon Strategy

  • Own the MEU carbon-reduction roadmap, translating MDLZ Science-Based Targets (SBTi) into regional action plans across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.

  • Identify and prioritise decarbonisation levers across the E2E supply chain (scope 1-2-3).

  • Partner closely with the Global Impact Team & MEU organisation to identify, fund, and scale initiatives.

  • Track, report, and communicate MEU progress against carbon KPIs.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the central point of contact for climate and environment topics across MEU, connecting corporate sustainability, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, finance, and corporate & government affairs.

  • Be the go-to sustainability partner for plant directors, supply chain leads, and logistics managers — embedding climate thinking into operational planning and investment decisions.

  • Coordinate with BU_CU teams to ensure local execution aligns with the regional climate strategy.

  • Build and manage relationships with external partners, industry coalitions, consultants, and governmental bodies.

  • Identify external funding opportunities (grants, subsidies, green finance).

  • Support commercial teams where relevant on climate-related sustainability communications.

Culture & Advocacy

  • Champion the climate agenda as part of Snacking Made Right, embedding environmental ambition into everyday decision-making across operations.

  • Drive engagement and capability-building across MEU on climate and environmental topics.

  • Contribute to a vibrant, purpose-driven team spirit and a positive working environment.

What extra ingredients you will bring:

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career with experience and knowledge in:

  • Climate & environmental expertise – Deep understanding of carbon accounting (Scopes 1–3), energy management, water stewardship, and waste/circular-economy principles.

  • Target frameworks – Familiarity with SBTi, CDP, GHG Protocol, or equivalent standards.

  • Operational agility – Comfortable working with manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and supply chain teams; understands how sustainability translates into plant-level and network-level action.

  • Project management – Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programmes with multiple stakeholders and deliver measurable results.

  • Data & analytics – Comfortable working with ESG data, KPIs, modelling tools and reporting systems; able to translate data into insight and action.

  • Stakeholder influence – Track record of building relationships and influencing senior leaders (at least two levels up) and cross-functional partners, particularly in operations.

  • Strategic & commercial acumen – Ability to balance environmental ambition with business pragmatism and build compelling investment cases.

  • Regulatory awareness – Understanding of evolving EU environmental regulations (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ETS, Green Claims Directive).

  • Self-starter mindset – Defines and delivers ambitious goals with energy, integrity, and perseverance.
