Job Description

Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?

Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It With Pride.

As a senior member of the site leadership team, you will drive engineering and asset reliability to deliver best in class performance. You will provide strategic leadership to a team of frontline maintenance managers and technical specialists, navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and a unionised labour environment. You are accountable for 100% compliance with local legal regulations, Quality, Health Safety & Environment (QHSE) standards across all manufacturing assets and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership & Union Relations

  • Lead, coach and manage a team of direct-report maintenance managers, driving accountability, high performance and alignment across a diverse workforce.

  • Navigate and maintain stable employee relations within a unionised manufacturing setting, partnering with labour representatives to implement operational changes smoothly.

  • Own and execute a clear people succession and resource plan for the site’s asset & technology population, identifying and implementing critical levers to attract, retain and develop business-critical technical talent.

Site Asset Reliability & Operations

  • Drive a culture of high asset reliability to completely maximise engineering uptime, and reduce manufacturing interruptions.

  • Lead and be accountable for the site’s comprehensive Asset Maintenance program and engineering capabilities, ensuring all maintenance repairs and operations are fully optimised.

  • Standardise asset-related business continuity plans and manufacturing compliance regulations, ensuring strict implementation, regular reviews and monitoring for all employees and contractors.

Strategic & Financial Governance

  • Develop and execute a multi-year engineering roadmap and annual operating plan designed to deliver a sustainable competitive advantage to Mondelēz.

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and external service providers to define, track and meet rigorous Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability and Engagement (SQCDSE) goals.

  • Establish strong governance frameworks to review and control technical operational performance, driving a continuous improvement plan to match best-in-class benchmarks both internally and externally (OEE, MTBF, and vendor SLAs).

Continuous Improvement

  • Embed Progressive Maintenance (PM) principles across the engineering department to move from reactive to predictive maintenance.

  • Champion Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM), predictive analytics and digital tools to modernise traditional maintenance practices and deliver zero breakdowns.

Qualifications & Experience

Leadership Experience:

  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing direct report managers in a fast-paced manufacturing/CPG setting.

  • Demonstrated success operating within unionised work environments, with strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Demonstrated abilities in team building

Technical & Business Acumen:

  • Preferred a time served engineer by trade with relevant industry experience with optional university degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or related technical field)

  • Deep knowledge of industrial maintenance, asset lifecycle management, PM (Progressive Maintenance) expertise and Spare Parts optimisation.

  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience managing large-scale manufacturing budgets and engineering projects.

  • Proficiency with Asset Management tools (such as SAP PM module) and automation concepts.

  • Excellent communication (verbal & written)
