We’re looking to recruit a Junior Pensions Governance Manager, to join our large in-house pensions team.

The in-house pensions team, for the Cadbury Mondelez Pension Fund (the Fund), looks after in excess of 20,000 members and the Fund has assets in excess of £3 billion.

The Junior Pensions Governance Manager will also help support the Company’s DC Pension Scheme, part of the L&G Mastertrust, with over 6,000 members.

How you will contribute

You will act as support to the Pensions Manager and the Trustee Board and its Sub Committees, to ensure the Fund operates effectively and meets all governance and regulatory requirements.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

  • You must have worked in the pensions industry for a minimum of 3 years, and have proven experience in pensions administration and governance

  • A pensions qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous though not essential

  • Excellent knowledge of DB and DC pension arrangements and pensions legislation/regulatory framework

  • Knowledge of pension scheme rules

  • Previous exposure to Trustee meetings, whilst not a requirement, would be an advantage

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise and timely communication)

  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels

  • Proficient MS Office and Outlook skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook calendar)

  • Proficiency in shorthand or experience of taking notes/minutes during meetings, whilst not a requirement, would be an advantage

  • Display discretion and confidentiality when managing sensitive information

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Pensions Manager and pensions team

  • Provide support to the Trustee Board and its Sub Committees

  • Support on all aspects of operational governance including monitoring of the Fund's risk register, annual business plan, conflicts policy and group life insurance policy

  • Provide support to the Trustee, as required, in relation to adhoc projects (such as GMP Equalisation)

  • Co-ordinate production of and publish Trustee meeting packs

  • Organise and co-ordinate calendars for all Trustee and Sub Committee meetings

  • Attend many of these meetings and take the minutes for some

  • Follow up action points from Trustee and Trustee Sub Committee meetings

  • Communicating technical pensions issues both internally (pensions team) and externally (Trustee)
