You will be Manager in a team responsible for the overall financial integrity and performance of a country, category, Supply Chain or FP&A. You will support the Senior Manager or Director in data collection to prepare business proposals, verify assumptions, check daily execution and support delivery of overall objectives and ensure the integrity and timeliness of reporting.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Manage and execute aspects of finance planning and performance management process and related financial decisions potentially including Strategic Plan and Annual Contract planning/forecasting, target development, financial performance reporting/analysis, financial modelling, and decision support for a focused scope within a region, business unit, country, Supply Chain, Mondelēz International Business Services or Corporate Finance team. You will own data collection and verify data integrity
  • Ensure a strong controls and compliance environment in your area of scope and ensure full compliance with our policies
  • Help the senior manager and the business prepare critical financial data and insight that enable perspectives for business strategies and decisions as well as execute ad hoc analysis on request
  • Lead projects to improve efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and embrace a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to a high-performing Finance team. You will also invest in personal development and the development of Finance peers and drive our Finance talent agenda within the organization, with a focus on local FP&A pipeline
  • You will work closely with the Marketing Excellence and PCM team on our Innovation agenda for all categories
  • As main business partner for our sustainability lead you will overlook the sustainability financials and work closely together with our Senior Director Sustainability MEU and Procurement Finance Director

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in financial planning and performance management including data collection and structuring, analysing, planning and reporting company financial performance across all financial KPIs and investment decisions and cost management to achieve financial targets
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business, consumer packaged goods industry, and local snacking market dynamics. Relevant experience in a regional/local business
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including experience with business partnering and communication skills across a large regional or local public company
  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify/execute opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values and policies and external regulations

More about this role

This is a location-free role in Europe.

What you need to know about this position:

The Manager Category Finance must have a collaborative style with the ability to build partnerships cross functionally and effectively influence. You will provide business decision support to management. You will provide FP&A support to the Senior Category Finance Manager MEU Bakery & Meals, the FP&A Director and the Central Marketing Innovation team MEU.

Main responsibilities:

Meals

Key business partner to the Sr Director Meals MEU, leading financial analysis and directing the Central Marketing team on innovations and strategic decisions;

  • Participate in the monthly Project Approval (PAM) Process through assessment and voting on various projects (Innovations/ Promotions/ Profitability/ Maintenance/ Productivities etc.)
  • Prepare regular innovation updates for Category and area Finance Leadership
  • Coordinate the post-evaluation process for recent new product launches. Support Marketing with BDM (Brand Dev. Meeting) presentations and framing the story.
  • Participate in monthly BDM’s, directing other project team functions (e.g., BD teams) to improve functional decision making of our innovation pipeline and estimate financial impacts driven by different outstanding options.

Lead and coordinate FP&A activities for the Meals category;

  • Product hierarchy management, restatements and NPD tracking and analysis
  • Ensure budgeting and actuals for Meals are in line with company targets
  • Tracking and budget management of central A&C for Meals (monthly, AC, LE and major fc’s)
  • Drive process efficiencies and ways-of-working improvements
  • Promote financial knowledge and literacy to non-finance functions by providing advice and consulting
  • Responsible to manage a Genpact support for certain tasks, e.g., innovation P&L preparation, ad hoc retrieves, monthly actuals deck etc.
  • Ad-hoc FP&A support
  • Finance pillar lead for finance topics within the Compass system project scope

Sustainability

  • Key business partner to the Sr Director Sustainability MEU, coordinating financial tracking for various sustainability streams;
  • Coordinate budgeting and Strategic Plan (SP) processes in Sustainability and Mindful Snacking related projects, with both Regional and Global teams
  • Central support to ensure robust finance assumptions received from x-functional teams are included for budgeting/SP
  • Partner with Proc. Finance to understand sustainability on-costs and ensure impacts are mitigated ensuring viability in the P&L

  • 5+ years working experience in Finance, Category and FP&A knowledge preferred
  • Using data to make recommendations and decisions
  • Fluent English skills

Innovation Excellence

  • Key business partner to the Marketing Excellence & PCM MEU
  • Be an active finance business partner for all categories to support our Marketers with sufficiency & efficiency of their projects and be their first point of contact
  • Understand the Innovation reporting in Accolade and respond to global requests
  • Define Hurdle rates for innovation and other projects and work closely on that with your manager
  • Improve ways of working for innovation projects across all categories and work together with the whole team on end-to-end processes
  • Understand our Innovation Dashboard and work together with Genpact and our COE for Reporting & Planning on the quarterly actual reporting of our Top Innovations
