Overview

Microsoft 365 Copilot harnesses the power of generative AI through foundational large language models to usher in a new era of AI-first productivity for hundreds of millions of enterprise users. As business workflows don't typically run exclusively on Microsoft 365 applications and data formats, Copilot is built as a platform right from the very beginning. Using extensibility, customers augment M365 Copilot with AI agents – which leverage custom skills, organizational-specific knowledge and natural language instructions to enable truly spectacular AI scenarios and power connected workflows.

M365 Copilot Platform Ecosystem team is designing and building innovative AI agents on the M365 Copilot extensibility platform, including agent templates for makers as well as more bespoke solutions with leading customers. As a Senior Product Designer in the team, you will design the next wave of agents built using the latest generative AI technology on M365 Copilot’s extensibility platform. Working across our engineering teams and with our most strategic customers and partners, you will deliver high-quality, sticky and transformative Copilot agents for use by millions of end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive agent experiences: Create guided workflows that help users configure complex AI systems without requiring deep technical expertise.
  • Visualize knowledge structures: Turn abstract semantic relationships into clear, interactive visualizations that make data models understandable and actionable.
  • Bridge human and machine understanding: Translate technical concepts into approachable interfaces and language so users feel confident interacting with AI.
  • Prototype and iterate quickly: Build and test design concepts that demonstrate how structured knowledge improves AI reasoning and user outcomes.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work closely with engineers, researchers, and product managers to ensure designs are technically feasible and user-centered. .
  • Communicate design intent clearly: Share compelling product stories with stakeholders and adjust narratives for different audiences.
  • Ground Decisions in Research: Conduct user research and analyze feedback to continuously refine semantic structures. Validate that your models actually help users and agents accomplish their goals.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in fullstack, frontend development, successfully shipping services through multiple releases.
  • Applications must include a link to a design portfolio.

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the
  • Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
  • Experience that demonstrates proven ability to advocate for design thinking, effectively influence design outcomes, discover problems and tackle them in fast-paced environments.
