Assistant Rock Pool Host
Location: LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, Windsor, SL4 4AY
Hours: Full Time - 5 days out of 7
Contract Type: Seasonal, until Winter 2026

LEGOLAND Windsor’s LEGO CITY: DEEP SEA ADVENTURE has a few rockpools that require an enthusiastic, engaging and motivated host who will interact with our many guests. You will be part of the team that are responsible for ensuring consistently high standards of display presentation and animal husbandry. We want you to love the oceans and creatures that live in them as much as we do. By sharing their beauty, we want to inspire you to help us protect them for generations to come!
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Hosting: Interact with the public at our tropical marine rockpool housing a variety of invertebrates and crustations.
- Product: To maintain consistently high standards of displays presentation throughout all public and behind scenes areas of displays for the attraction.
- Husbandry: To ensure consistently high standards of animal husbandry and life support systems operation.
- Team: To work as a dedicated member of the displays and operations team, being well motivated, enthusiastic and focused.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the attraction, the rockpool host/ seasonal Aquarist will be responsible for the following:
- Interact with our guests at our rockpools using dedicated ‘props’ to engage guests and deliver our conservation message, sharing your passion for the marine environment.
- Work to a level that is equal to or surpasses the guidelines set in the company minimum standards for displays.
- Prepare suitable diets and feed all livestock.
- Ensure consistently high levels of animal health and welfare.
- Ensure high quality product presentation through the routine maintenance of displays, thus ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Complete accurate and up to date displays record systems including feeding and water quality records.
- Implement continually high levels of cleanliness of all the displays, quarantine and food preparation areas, plus associated plant rooms and workshops.
- Complying with the statutory and company regulations regarding Health and Safety at Work and COSHH.
- Adhere to all Zoo licence or equivalent regulations and how they apply to the attraction.
- Play a key role in the site displays team to ensure the smooth operation of the displays within the attraction.
- Maintain a high level of communication between the displays team and Attractions Department.
- Attendance of all relevant training courses and workshop as presented via our People Portal in order to maintain own continual professional development.
- Whilst caring for animals and working with the public it is likely that you will be required to work outside your normal contracted hours. In addition you will be expected to remain flexible with regards to weekly rotas based on the needs of the business and animal requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Awareness of animal husbandry including food preparation
- A willingness to learn and develop your skills
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- A confident and clear communicator, happy to deliver presentations and demonstrations to our guests and your colleagues. The role of Aquarist has a high level of guest interaction so you must have the confidence to share our conservation message with guests of all ages!
- Comfortable with lone working
- Passionate about sea life conservation
- Ability to learn and deliver animal facts to guests during one on one or group interactions
HEALTH & SAFETY

In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
