Job Description

What you'll bring to the team

We’re on the lookout for a confident and commercially minded Retail Team Leader to help power our gift shops and keep the magic flowing long after the last brick is built.

As a Retail Team Leader at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, you’ll play a key role in driving commercial performance while delivering an outstanding guest experience. You’ll lead from the front on the shop floor, champion brilliant visual merchandising and make sure day to day retail operations run like clockwork.

This is not a behind the scenes role. You’ll be a visible leader, a coach and a role model for your team, motivating them to deliver guest obsessed service while spotting opportunities to grow sales and maximise revenue. You’ll also form part of the attraction management team, Duty Managing and opening and closing the attraction on a rota basis.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily retail operations, manage queues, uphold health and safety standards and act as Duty Manager.
  • Drive revenue through upselling, strong merchandising and creative sales initiatives.
  • Train, mentor and motivate frontline teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage inventory, deliveries and stock levels to keep shops fully stocked and guest ready.

Contract details

This role is available as either a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week) or a fixed term contract (36 hours per week worked over 5 days, ending 31 December 2026). Weekend working is essential for both contract types. Shifts vary weekly, with start and finish times typically between 8am and 8pm, although later finishes may be required during one off events outside normal operating hours. The fixed term contract is paid hourly and offers an immediate start.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a fast paced, customer facing environment
  • Strong communication, coaching and team building skills
  • High levels of proactivity with confident problem-solving abilities
  • A passion for retail, visual standards and guest experience
  • Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and varied shift patterns
