We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of major ride, park, and hotel development projects. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the delivery of complex, high-profile developments while shaping the experiences that guests will enjoy for years to come.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager you will provide strategic guidance and support to Project Managers across a regional portfolio of developments. You'll play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with operational leaders, creative teams, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders, you will help bring ambitious concepts to life while driving consistency and excellence in project delivery across the region.

You'll also be instrumental in developing project management capability within Merlin, introducing innovative approaches and mentoring future project leaders.

What You'll Be Doing

Driving Project Delivery Excellence

  • Provide strategic oversight and support across multiple ride, park, and hotel development projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed quality standards, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Establish and lead structured project management processes, governance, and reporting.
  • Support accurate budget planning, forecasting, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.

Leading High-Performing Teams

  • Manage and influence multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Foster collaboration between internal stakeholders and external delivery partners.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop project professionals, supporting career growth and leadership capability.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and shared success.

Building Strong Partnerships

  • Develop trusted relationships with operational leaders across Merlin attractions and resorts.
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Marketing Directors, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to align project goals and outcomes.
  • Leverage industry expertise and market knowledge to identify innovative solutions and emerging best practices.

Solving Complex Challenges

  • Lead the resolution of complex and non-routine project issues.
  • Ensure compliance with Merlin project governance standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve delivery efficiency across projects.
  • Drive innovative thinking to enhance guest experiences, project outcomes, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience leading large-scale construction or capital development projects.
  • Proven success delivering complex, multi-disciplinary projects from planning through completion.
  • Experience managing project budgets, programmes, risk, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong leadership experience across diverse internal and external teams.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of procurement, construction, programme management, cost control, and project governance.
  • Experience working with complex technical installations and large-scale developments.
  • Knowledge of planning regulations, local authority requirements, and construction compliance frameworks.
