Role Summary
Safety is paramount in everything we do. The Landscaping Specialist is a vital member of the Technical Services team, responsible for maintaining the aesthetic quality, health, and safety of all landscaped areas across the resort. This role directly supports guest satisfaction and brand standards by ensuring all grounds, green spaces, and exterior environments are clean, vibrant, well-maintained, and welcoming.
The Landscaping Specialist performs hands-on landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, irrigation support, and seasonal enhancements in both guest-facing and back-of-house areas. Working in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, this role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and presentation standards.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, understands the importance of curb appeal in a themed resort setting, and demonstrates professionalism while supporting LEGOLANDβs core values of safety, inclusion, creativity, and fun.
Qualifications & Experience
Main Responsibilities:
- Landscape Maintenance & Grounds Care
- Maintain lawns, planting beds, trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas throughout the resort.
- Perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, mulching, and debris removal to maintain high presentation standards.
- Support seasonal landscape installations, themed overlays, and special event preparations.
- Assist with planting, soil preparation, fertilization, and basic pest or weed control in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of walkways, courtyards, entrances, and exterior guest areas.
- Irrigation & Hardscape Support
- Assist with inspection and basic maintenance of irrigation systems, including identifying leaks, broken heads, or coverage issues.
- Support minor hardscape upkeep such as pressure washing, pathway edging, and exterior furniture placement.
- Report irrigation or landscape infrastructure issues requiring advanced repair.
- Inspections & Quality Standards
- Conduct routine inspections of landscaped areas to identify safety hazards, trip risks, dead vegetation, or presentation concerns.
- Ensure landscaped environments meet company standards, seasonal expectations, and guest experience goals.
- Proactively address issues or escalate concerns to the Facilities Supervisor as needed.
- Work Order & CMMS Support
- Complete assigned work orders related to landscape maintenance and exterior grounds.
Health & Safety:
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues, and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. They must ensure they follow safe working procedures for all work activities they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2β4 years of hands-on landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic horticulture, turf care, and landscape maintenance practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to follow direction while working independently or as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor in guest-facing environments.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a theme park, resort, hospitality, or large campus environment.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems or landscape equipment maintenance
- Forklift or lift equipment certification.
- Familiarity with seasonal plantings and themed landscaping.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry 25β70 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting.
- Ability to work for extended periods outdoors.
- Exposure to heat, humidity, rain, noise, dust, and pollen.
- Use of PPE including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and sun protection as required
Work Environment:
- Primary work performed outdoors across landscaped resort areas.
- Exposure to operational and guest-facing environments.
- Fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and seasonal demands.
- May require extended hours, weekends, or holidays during peak seasons or special events
Other Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to support park operations.
- Valid driverβs license with a safe driving record preferred.
- Attendance is an essential function of the role.
- Performs other duties as assigned

USD $17.00/Hr.
