The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Photographer/Videographer specialising in Technical Imagery to join the IMV team. This role would particularly suit someone who has recently completed a relevant apprenticeship or degree and is looking to apply and further develop their technical and creative skills in a real-world engineering environment.

In this role you will work closely with our IMV Technical Imagery Lead and will primarily be responsible for capturing the still and high-speed imagery required to support product validation and investigation evidence required by our IMV engineering teams. Your work will provide the essential start and end point for post-trial analysis, offering the clarity needed to validate system performance and troubleshoot complex technical challenges. With mentoring and support from an experienced specialist, you will continue to build your technical capability and confidence within the role.

Furthermore, you will play a key role in our outward-facing presence. You will manage the transition of technical trials data into high-impact assets for promotional purposes, ensuring our successes are communicated effectively to stakeholders and external customers, while developing an understanding of how complex technical content is adapted for wider audiences.

This role offers unique travel opportunities, supporting trials at various UK ranges and international test locations alongside our project teams, providing excellent exposure to live trials and multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Key tasks within the role:

  • Supporting the engineering community with expertise and advice on how to plan and achieve the right technical imagery and evidence to meet their requirements.
  • Traveling to various domestic and international trial sites to provide on-site technical support.
  • Delivering a "rapid response" service that enables Engineering teams to understand and resolve technical problems in time critical scenarios.
  • Managing the full imagery lifecycle, providing a high-fidelity visual record for complex product trials.
  • Balancing technical investigation requirements with the need for high-quality promotional content.

What we're looking for from you:

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn, develop and grow within this role. You will be supported by an experienced technical specialist, and we welcome applicants who bring a developing foundation in the following relevant skills along with a willingness to build on them. This experience may have been gained through an apprenticeship, degree or early career experience.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience or working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Photoshop CC, Media Encoder, and Lightroom
  • Technical Precision: Exposure to high-speed cinematography and technical photography, with an interest in developing deeper expertise
  • Media Knowledge: A good understanding of RAW video workflows; experience working with 3D and 360-degree video capture and processing
  • Operational Agility: The ability to adapt to changing trial schedules and respond positively to last-minute requirements to ensure data collection is never compromised.
  • Collaboration: A proactive approach to working with project teams and learning how to plan imagery requirements effectively.
  • Security & Media Aware: An awareness of security classifications and the importance of appropriate media handling.

Candidates will also need a full clean UK driving licence and flexibility in working times and days to support relevant trials and development activities.

If you do not meet every criterion, we still encourage you to apply.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with a dedicated and dynamic team of trials and proving engineers, while benefitting from structured support and learning from an experienced and specialist IMV Technical Imagery Lead.
