Job Description
We are looking for a talented Software Engineer with a strong background in data science to join our team, working within a concept programme. The role is ideal for someone who thrives when working within a research environment, exploring new and different ways of working to prepare us for future needs!
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 4 to 5 days per week on-site due, to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
You will play a key role, with responsibilities in areas of:
Design and development of scalable software systems/solutions with integrated data science capabilities.
Creating and maintain database schemas and data models
Maintain and enhance existing architectural components such as Data Ingest and Data Stores.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues within integrated (enriched) data systems.
Work with complex dataset to extract insights that supports drive decisions/solutions
Translate experimental ideas into production-ready solutions
Monitor system performance and implement updates to maintain optimal operation.
Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, engaging wider to incorporate them into our development strategies
What we're looking for from you:
Strong and significant software engineering experience (C++, Java or similar)
Solid background in data science and machine learning research, or statistical modelling
Experience developing and prototyping novel systems or approaches
Ability to take research concepts through to practical application
An adaptable and continuous learning mindset
Strong problem-solving skills and research-oriented mindset
