Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join the MBDA UK Portfolio team in supporting effective joint working.

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The UK Portfolio approach is designed to deliver the UK’s Complex Weapons requirements through the management of individual projects on a Portfolio basis within a much-reduced cost envelope through the implementation of a partnering arrangement (PMA2) between the Parties. The arrangement was renewed in 2024 for the next 10 years.

Through the partnering approach MBDA and MoD work collaboratively to maximise Industrial capacity, supply chain resilience, adequacy of stockpiles and the need to adapt quickly have all received greater government attention. A key enabler of this delivery is the development of Effective Joint Working.

  • Design, deliver and manage Joint Portfolio Stakeholder engagement activities with a focus on building relationships and interactions with the end user in the RAF, Royal Navy and Army communities
  • Support the leadership the Secondee programme into MOD providing excellent development opportunities for the individuals placed. Define a targeted strategy to optimise the MOD/MBDA boundary and take the opportunity to expand the Programme to reciprocate
  • Support the wider Joint Working team with relationship, communications and L&D activities as required
  • Represent and deputise for Portfolio Exec - Joint Working for Portfolio Relationship Management and Learning and Development activities as required.
  • Understanding and working within two bureaucratic and hierarchical organisations with different cultures, processes, and procedures
  • Driving the delivery of change and improvement within two business cultures that resist change
  • Working simultaneously with many stakeholder groups in a multi-organisational environment and emphasising the benefits of engagement across all parties
  • Acting as a role model for change, with the ability to influence people to carry out tasks or view relationships in a new way in the MBDA Portfolio

What we're looking for from you:

  • Strong experience of managing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation (preferably multi-organisation), including senior leaders, and working with different cultures.
  • Good planning skills but ability to adapt plans to changing circumstances.
  • The ability to deliver short term improvements that take us towards our longer term vision.
  • Committed and dedicated to see things through, with an eagerness to learn and experiment.
  • Experience of delivering Stakeholder Engagement interventions
