Head of Sales and Business Development (SBD) - Air Force
Salary: up to €85k
Based in Madrid in Spain and will be office based or at customer sites.
Security Clearance: Spanish Citizen or dual national, but must speak fluent Spanish with fluency in English (C1 Level)
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the MBDA Spain SBD Team as the Spanish Air Force (SAF) Win Team Leader. The focus of the role is to develop, implement and lead sales campaigns for the MBDA products with the customer (SAF). Working within the Spain SBD team and within MBDA Group SBD teams the strategies you develop will consider the sustainment and evolution MBDA Air product lines to ensure these capabilities (and derivatives of) remain at the core of the customer’s portfolio of weapons going forward. You will be part of the Spain SBD team looking to ensure MBDA's growth in Spain and increase its sales in the coming years.
To be successful you will have demonstrable experience in sales and business development within the Spain Defence sector, ideally with a portion of that in the air platforms. You will have remarkable experience co-developing and executing successful business winning strategies, leading complex campaigns and managing multi-function win teams. You will be required to form strong and trusted relationships with customer and internal stakeholders alike, up to and including Director level. A good understanding of complex weapons systems in air platforms and also experience in multinational company would be also beneficial.
This highly visible and strategically important role will be multi-faceted; the sales strategies you develop will need to be coherent with MBDA Group ones. Internally you will be required to work closely with
Programmes, Engineering, Finance and Strategy & Future Growth teams.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Sales/Commercial/Business and/or Aerospace/industrial/Telecommunication Engineering. Master Degree would be very beneficial.
- Demonstrable business winning experience and skills (minimum 3 years) including strategy development and bid/win team leadership for complex campaigns.
- Extensive understanding and experience of dealing with SP MoD Customer community, organisation and processes.
- Broad and in-depth business, technical, commercial background and experience
- Ideally experience of dealing SAF.
- Ideally knowledge & experience of the missile systems business and industry.
- Ideally a good understanding of air platforms weapons systems.
- Broad and in-depth business commercial background and experience.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (equivalent to C1 level). French would be very beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
