The Global Master Data Management Stewards are responsible for owning the quality, consistency, structure, and lifecycle of master data within a defined domain (Finance, Vendor, Product, R&D, or Customer), ensuring it effectively enables business processes, analytics, and transformation outcomes.

Act as the key link between business operations and data governance, translating standards into practical execution and business value.

Support the creation of a trusted data foundation that enables Royal Canin’s growth, digital transformation, and AI-driven decision-making at scale.

What are we looking for?

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or Master Data activities.
  • Experience supporting Master Data Management (MDM) processes across business domains.
  • Good understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata concepts.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP, Salesforce, or similar (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of data platforms such as Azure or Databricks (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of business processes and data flows.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders and support change in a global or matrix environment.


What will be your key responsibilities?

Domain Data Stewardship

  • Own day-to-day stewardship of master data within the assigned domain (Customer, Product, Vendor, Finance, R&D)
  • Ensure data is accurate, complete, and consistently maintained across systems, while tracking input KPIs (completeness, accuracy) and business outcome KPIs (e.g., delayed invoices, failed orders, operational impact).

Data Quality Management

  • Track and report data quality KPIs and issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely remediation of data defects and exceptions.

Business Collaboration & Alignment

  • Partner with business users, process owners, GPOs, and functional teams to align data needs and priorities.
  • Translate business requirements into clear data definitions, rules, and governance standards.
  • Drive adoption of data governance practices across the business.
  • Ensure master data enables effective end-to-end process performance.

Governance & Compliance in Domain

  • Apply enterprise data governance policies and standards within the domain.
  • Maintain master data structures, hierarchies, and attribute definitions in line with global standards.
  • Ensure adherence to defined data rules and governance frameworks
  • Support auditability, compliance, and control of master data processes.

Operational Support for Transformation

  • Support data readiness for transformation and deployment programs (e.g., EOS).
  • Assist in testing, validation, data migration, and go-live activities.
  • Support post go-live stabilization and issue resolution.
  • Prioritize work across EOS, transformation programs, and Run & Grow activities.

Continuous Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality processes and governance practices.
  • Drive automation and simplification of master data maintenance activities.
  • Leverage AI and digital tools to enhance data governance and efficiency.

Cross-Domain Collaboration

  • Manage dependencies and resolve transversal data issues across domains.
  • EOS Delivery & Execution Support.
  • Operate within the EOS data delivery model and governance triangle.
  • Ensure data readiness, execution support, and post go-live stabilization.

External & Ecosystem Alignment

  • Collaborate with Mars Global Services (MGS), system integrators, and external partners.
  • Ensure alignment between internal governance standards and external delivery teams.
