Job Description:

To lead and deliver medium to large projects in the identified innovation/renovation pipeline for wet pet food by developing and/or deploying products and recipes based on sustainable technologies meeting agreed critical success factors.

To maintain our portfolio of existing products by ensuring consistent delivery against product performance and quality targets.

What are we looking for?

  • Advanced English (written & spoken)

  • Proven experience in conducting innovation projects including implementation activities.

  • At least 3 years’ experience of research & development in a business environment.

  • Impact of raw materials in nutrition/product KQAs/product performance/process capabilities.

  • Functionality of raw materials

  • Good understanding of dog and cat food nutrition and manufacturing

  • Ability to use software and systems for optimization of recipes and nutritional standards (ARA)

  • Good knowledge about Q&FS in food or pet food industry.

  • BSc/MSc in Food Sciences, Food Technologists, Food Chemistry, Pet Nutrition or equivalent

  • Project management and organization skills

  • Understanding of business and manufacturing processes

  • Consumer Understanding

  • Scientific methods and mindset, quality mindset

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Accountable for delivering operational objectives and medium to large projects within Wet PDI team.

  • Responsible for management of their activities, including technical leadership for business projects from pre- DB until factory handover (HO1)

  • Act as a brand technical portfolio leader on his/her brand being responsible to identify and deliver product quality improvement to ensure product performance (nutrition, palatability, digestibility, BEP, cost) in line with our performance targets. Identify opportunities to benchmark externally, drive internal standards & competitor understanding.

  • Accountable for planning of product trials in pilot and/or industrial plants, as required, and for designing nutritional, physical tests and/or feeding trials plan.

  • Responsible for creation of key product control documentation, e.g. PIDs, product specifications, recipe frames, etc. ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Providing support for Q&FS in the resolution of product quality, food safety incidents and standard implementations

  • Act as a reliable source of information and expertise on product attributes and recipes connected to recipe (e.g. texture, palatability, competitive understanding)

  • Provide high quality formal and informal communication on progress of projects.

  • Only for ARA Prototyper: Develop pet nutrition knowledge for the recipe design to support the PDI projects as a previous validation of the Formulation Specialist
