Here’s the scoop - Summary

The Vice President of Market Strategy & Deployment is responsible for overseeing the creation, implementation, and optimization of marketing in the United States and Canada.

This role requires someone with extensive digital marketing and commercial expertise to drive brand growth, retailer engagement, and market share.

The leader should have experience developing high performing teams, and will have oversight of regional media, content creation, portfolio management, shopper marketing, innovation commercialization, category management, and trade shows.

This leader thrives in white space strategy development, enjoys cutting through complexity and winning as a team. This role will work our of our Colorado, Nashville or New York City offices and work a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic co-pilot to the General Manager Americas; orchestrates overall business planning including assisting with creation of Annual Plans, long term Value Creation Plans, and ensuring delivery of these plans.
  • Manages the North American marketing budget, recommending best growth investments and optimizing for scaled tactical approaches.
  • Leads Media and Content team, developing media strategies and assets for North America based on category/brand/shopper/audience insights across the marketing funnel; including awareness building and mid-funnel activation, and collaborates with VP Ecommerce on retail media activation.
  • Leads Brand Activation team, guiding them through best in class in innovation commercialization, sales planning and shopper marketing activations .
  • Leads Category Management team in providing best in class shelf diagnostics, analytics and recommendations to assist Champion’s sales teams for growth development and optimal retail performance.
  • Leads Trade Shows for North America including trade show strategy, booth and asset development, and overarching

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of CPG marketing, media and sales experience with at least 5-7 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated growth strategies with measurable success.
  • Demonstrated experience leading best in class media strategies, digital content, and agency management with focus on latest tools and practices to win in digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience as thought leadership partner with Sales teams and tangible results based on recommended strategies.
  • Strong analytical mindset to assess performance and make data-driven optimizations.
  • A people person skilled in networking within the company, building relationships, and driving change through influence rather than authority.
  • Excellent communication skills, adept at structuring documents and quantitative analyses, as well as creating PowerPoint presentations for executive-level communication.
  • Experienced in leading and coaching teams.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
