Context of the role :

In 2021, Mars became a major shareholder of Vetsource US. Vetsource as an online pharmacy is an eBusiness 2 Business 2 Customer retailer helping to improve the lives of vets and pets. Vetsource conveniently delivers prescription medicines and nutrition products directly to the pet owner's home. Vetsource will be launching a new business in the UK and then expanding across Europe, the Americas and APAC. Vetsource team operates in a fast paced and exciting start-up international environment within one of the largest food multinational corporations.

The Strategic Partnerships Lead develops and maintains partnerships with industry partners to grow Vetsource business in a sustainable way in the UK and abroad. It includes leading partnership and negotiation with pet health and food manufacturers and veterinary technology services providers and data providers, but also defining and executing pricing, category, promotion and catalog strategy. Moreover, eventually recruit and lead an international team as we grow in other markets.

This role reports into the GM of Vetsource International and dotted line into the Head of Operations of Vetsource International.

What will be your key responsibilities ? :

Partnerships and business development

  • Engage the pharmaceutical, petfood and services manufacturers to partner with Vetsource, build joint business plans, draft contracts and negotiate terms

  • Advance partnership opportunities with data providers, manufacturer technology programs and veterinary technology service providers by creating business cases, securing a deal, conducting due diligence, drafting agreements, negotiating terms, and executing partnership agreement

  • Analyze current industry trends to identify business opportunities that would generate revenue resources and profitability and make pertinent and actionable recommendations in collaboration with Head of Operations and Market Heads

Category, promotions and pricing strategy

  • Define and execute sustainable pricing strategy and operating model in the markets with help of CFO and Head of Operations

  • Engage manufacturers to develop promotions on Vetsource platform, create relevant promotions strategy (target right audience, increase trials and/or loyalty…) and improve efficiency of promotions

  • Create and execute category strategy to fulfil the needs of as many pets as possible, meet veterinary clinics' catalog needs and grow new health & nutrition patterns & trends

Leadership and internationalisation

  • Key member of the operations leadership team, contributor to operations meetings and other strategic operations initiatives

  • Dynamic leader who can articulate and translate Vetsource International operations vision into meaningful work for all associates and internal & external stakeholders

  • Problem solving and change champion, very comfortable in ambiguous and fast-paced environment

  • Work with Vetsource International Head of Operations to develop the roadmap and operating model, and execute the operations launch successfully into new markets

What are we looking for ?

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree

  • Fluent in English

  • 3-5 years of team management experience

Essential:

  • Key account management

  • Commercial strategy/Strategic Revenue Management and/or digital business experience and/or international business

Preferred:

  • Vet/health business experience

  • Leadership team experience
