Job Description:

The Mars Executive Search team are responsible for is identifying, qualifying and assessing executive talent for our most senior executive positions across Mars Inc, including confectionary, pet care, food, innovation and Mars Global Services.

The Talent Researcher – Executive Search is responsible for the identification of global talent that the executive search recruiters then engage for immediate positions, or as part of talent maps for future opportunities. These assignments will be delivered across the globe, partnering with business & P&O leaders to inform and educate on critical hiring decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and present to the executive search team, senior-level talent for specific search assignments and speculative opportunities across Mars Inc,

  • To build pipelines and market maps of highly qualified candidates, segmented by company, sector and industry, that Mars could utilise in the future,

  • Develop an effective and compelling research presentation format for the executive team and Mars leadership, which will / could include:

    • Talent insights including geographical skills gaps & capabilities, org charts, cross-sector talent reviews, industry & company news, highlighting of new hires by competitor organisations and research for specific open opportunities,

  • Help manage administrative duties related to the search process including status reports, candidate assessments and timely feedback to the executive search team and business.

Key Relationships:

  • Global Executive Search Director and Executive Search colleagues,

  • The Mars Talent Acquisition Team including the TASLT, recruiters and sourcers,

  • Talent team, supporting the executive search team with statistics and data regarding the external talent market.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience of mapping global talent from a range of sources including social networks, conference speakers & attendees, industry news, referrals and other methods as appropriate,

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building and client management skills, helping shape hiring decisions through the delivery of robust, credible and accurate research,

  • Adept at challenging the status quo when it comes to skills & capabilities verses sector & industry,

  • Curious, challenging, adaptable and passionate about the work you deliver, helping Mars continue on our journey to be a more inclusive organisation,

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with change and ambiguity,

  • An interest / passion / desire to learn the history and complexity of one of the world’s most successful, privately held companies.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A credible history of delivering research overviews to tight timelines and deadlines. This could be away from talent acquisition, but with an interest in learning a new view on research delivery,

  • Experience from either an in-house search team (from any industry) or from the delivery of retained executive search in an agency would be beneficial,

  • Strong project management skills; capable of developing and executing upon thoughtful project/recruiting strategies and adapting those as required,

  • A truly engaging and passionate person with the ability to establish rapport quickly, engage executive search & business colleagues and develop trusted relationships,

  • Competence working both individually and as a team member, supporting and challenging the team to do better,

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
