Job Purpose:
Shift Manager is responsible to lead the Site Operations during his shift by taking the complete responsibility and ownership in the absence of VSM/Plant Manager during shifts. The role requires the Shift Manager to be a key driver to make sure that shift teams are motivated and engaged to deliver the manufacturing goals w.r.t. Safety/Quality/Cost to execute production plan/ schedule. Ensures the line is running smoothly and producing quality products. The role also requires Shift Manager to ensure that his team is effectively converting the raw material into the finished goods while maintaining process specifications and quality standard in a safe and sanitary environment. The incumbent of the role is responsible to lead his team in solving problems and Continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence: Deliver planned factory output, maximize TRS (Total Rollout Standards), and meet production schedules by effectively organizing shift resources and driving troubleshooting.
People Leadership & Development: Foster associate engagement and teamwork while directly managing, coaching, and upskilling the operational team (including Production Officers) to support succession planning.
Continuous Improvement & Lean- Lead CI projects, eliminate operational waste, reduce manufacturing conversion costs, and improve first-pass quality to eliminate inefficiencies
Safety, Quality & ESH Compliance: Drive a strong safety culture and ensure strict adherence to Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), GMP, food safety requirements, and local ESH legislations.
Reliability & Change Management: Manage preventive maintenance schedules to secure machine reliability, and champion technological/methodological changes to optimize area performance.
Job Specifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering
Experience 8+ years in food/beverage/FMCG environment
Prior experience in lean/TPM (Total preventative maintenance) /CI (continuous improvement) tools and techniques
Good coaching and People management skills
Analytical experience collating and interpreting data and spreadsheets
