Job Description

Job Description:

Job Purpose

The right capabilities and skill sets are needed within Mars Food & Nutrition DT team to drive a global, cross-segment R&D digitalization program to the next level for efficiency, speed and future proofing of our business.

The role of the cPLM Digital Technology Lead is pivotal in driving the successful delivery of system-enabled solutions that underpin the data and process requirements across 4 core program workstreams: Pilot Planning, Design & Build, Data Architecture, and End-to-End Process. This is a mission-critical role in enabling Mars FN to modernize and future-proof its Idea-to-Market capabilities through a robust, scalable PLM platform.

As a key technical authority, the cPLM Technology Lead will oversee the design, configuration, integration, and technical deployment of PLM solutions, ensuring they meet both current and future business needs. The role is responsible for end-of-the- end technical deployment activities including planning, execution, testing, and issue resolutions.

This position is project-based and as a result, has an anticipated program end date of 3 years. As we approach the project end date, we will collaborate with you to explore other employment opportunities within the Mars family of companies. If a suitable alternative role is not available at that time, your employment will end and you may be eligible for a redundancy package in line with Company policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities.

The cPLM Digital Technology Lead plays a critical role in shaping and delivering the end-to-end system landscape that supports the transformation of the “Idea to Market” mega process. This role is focused on driving the technical implementation of a simplified, digitized, and globally scalable future state, addressing key pain points across process, data, and integration.

As the technical lead, this individual will be responsible for translating business requirements into robust, scalable system solutions— defining and validating technical specifications, system configurations, and data models in close collaboration with the Corporate team. The role will act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, solution architects, and development teams, ensuring

that the system design and technical roadmap align with Mars’ long-term vision for cPLM and the broader R&D systems strategy.

In addition to leading technical design and build activities, the cPLM Technology Lead will be accountable for all deployment-related technical deliverables—overseeing system configuration, integration with enterprise platforms (e.g., MDG, SAP ERP, PIM, Regulatory), data migration, testing, and technical cutover. They will ensure solution quality, performance, and compliance with global architecture

standards.

This role is essential in enabling successful business transformation through strong system leadership, partnering closely with regional deployment teams, DT, and functional experts to drive adoption, sustainability, and continuous improvement of the cPLM platform.

Missions

  • Accountable for providing technical leadership of the cPLM platform across design, configuration, integration, and deployment.

  • Translate business process requirements into scalable technical designs and system architectures.

  • Lead system integration efforts across the digital ecosystem (e.g., MDG, ERP, PIM, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing systems).

  • Guide data architecture decisions, ensuring accurate and consistent product data flow throughout the value chain.

  • Oversee deployment activities, including technical planning, data migration, testing, issue resolution, and hypercare.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global DT, Corporate teams, and segment stakeholders to ensure solution alignment with enterprise strategy.

  • Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and architecture standards.

  • Mentor and support regional deployment teams and key users to drive system adoption and long-term success

Knowledge / Experience

Mandatory:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Program Manager or Program Director leading complex global initiatives.

  • Hands-on experience in designing and deploying global templates and managing global rollouts.

  • Strong track record of managing multi-country, multi-stakeholder programmes with significant business impact.

Specific Expertise Required:

  • Deep understanding of cloud deployment models (e.g., SaaS, private/public cloud).

  • Knowledge of instance strategy (centralised vs decentralised) and its implications for scalability and governance.

  • Strong experience in data migration workstreams, including cutover planning and validation.

  • Expertise in data masking, data security, and compliance frameworks.

  • Ability to implement data governance and master data management strategies.

  • Ability to evaluate design choices for high availability, fault tolerance, and load balancing.

  • Strong experience in handling API and middleware integration delivery.

  • Proven ability to lead Steering Committee meetings and monthly programme status meetings.

  • Hands-on experience preparing program plans for multi-year initiatives.

  • Strong experience working closely with business teams and central functions teams.

  • Experience managing multiple System Integrator teams.

  • Strong experience drafting Statements of Work (SoWs), negotiating contracts, and managing IT vendor relationships.

  • Proven experience in setting up delivery teams for transformation program execution.

  • Experience in establishing BAU teams, including selecting partners and finalising AMS SoWs.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or any other PLM transformation program.

  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management concepts and end-to-end processes (BOM management, change control, recipe/specification management).
