Job Description:

The Sr. Key Account Manager is responsible for achieving quality share growth through creating and executing Win/Win business plans for Loblaw Inc. nationally aligned with Pet Nutrition strategy. This role’s primary objective will be to turn around category performance and Mars’ position whilst delivering efficient trade revenue optimization. Developing and nurturing influential relationships and collaborating internally will be critical to the success of this role (Strong financial acumen and insights background is preferred).

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • 4+ Years’ experience in Account Management or Sales in the CPG Industry (prior Account Management experience is required).
  • Experience managing customer(s) or had account facing experience in the past.
  • Ability to penetrate customers and form relationships at lower levels of the organization, and across different departments (ie. Loyalty, Media, Space Planning, etc).
  • Fluent understanding of CAS forecasting and trade management system.
  • Excellent customer business management skills.
  • Category management experience & strong analytical skills an asset.
  • Availability to travel 10% of time.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Budgets and Business Planning:

  • Manages the trade promotion budget at assigned customers in harmony with Mars policies and procedures and within assigned budgets.
  • Develops comprehensive customer growth plans to deliver all business segment objectives.
  • Partnership with peers and co-pilots to deliver >80% forecast accuracy
  • Generates opportunities and manages risks, in and out of customer/business plan.

Category Management:

  • Provides customer with category information and makes recommendations for Category growth.
  • Responsible for continually increasing the use of technology and category management tools (fact based selling) in the analysis and presentation of their business internally and with their customer to achieve all business segment objectives.
  • Provides timely information, category expertise and priorities, along with retail organizers to the retail sales organization (Merchandisers, Reps and DSM’s) in addition to consolidating and reporting on retail feedback on executional issues and opportunities.

Customer Management:

  • Develop, align and execute win-win customer centric plans with buyer and merchants with keys focus on profit and sales.
  • Active involvement to optimize customer service levels and efficiency in order to help minimize total delivered cost.
  • Uses all internal resources to understand and leverage customer strategies to successfully sell business segment programs and initiatives.

Information Management:

  • Conduit to customer strategies and objectives with Petcare segment with recommendations on account business opportunities.
  • Utilizes available information to capture Mars and competitive sales strategy tracking at the customer level.

Other:

  • Leadership in PC Optimum customer loyalty program execution and management across banners.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for following all Quality and Food Safety Policies and applicable procedures.
