Job Description:

Sanitation Manager - Your new challenge at Mars?

Reporting to our Production & Operations Manager, in our Pet Nutrition Business Unite, this position will lead the site sanitation team to deploy the Master Sanitation Schedule, ensuring cleaning and sanitizing compliance and effective management of sanitation resources.

This position will also oversee hygiene monitoring to proactively address non-compliance and maintain a safe, sanitary environment for producing high-quality, safe, and compliant pet food products.

This is a 100% on site position, based out of our Mogi Mirim factory.

In this exciting role, you'll...

  • Strategic Program Leadership: Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs across the site. Act as the primary spokesperson for sanitation health, reporting directly to the Site Director and Leadership Team.

  • Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS): Mitigate microbiological risks and rigorously enforce GMP and sanitation policies. Serve as the technical expert to review facility and equipment design, ensuring compliance with global Hygienic Design Standards.

  • Validation & Operations: Verify the effectiveness of all cleaning and sanitizing activities. Approve validation protocols, manage sanitation consumables/tools, and ensure the facility is always audit-ready.

  • Capability & Culture Building: Transform the site's hygiene culture by training operations associates on Salmonella prevention, basic GMPs, and site-specific sanitation requirements. Ensure adherence to planned schedules through visible, hands-on leadership.

  • Continuous Improvement: Partner with Shift Managers, Engineering, and Q&FS to solve complex hygiene problems. Champion site-wide continuous improvement initiatives and prioritize capital budgets for sanitation upgrades.

You?

  • Completed University Degree, preferably in Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering, or related fields;

  • 5+ years of experience in line management within a manufacturing environment (Food & Beverage or FMCG preferred), with a proven track record in industrial cleaning, sanitation, and pest management;

  • Advanced English (will be tested during the process);

  • Robust technical knowledge of HACCP, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Food Safety, and Microbiology standards;

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with a preventative mindset, high attention to detail, and the agility to guide teams through change.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • A competitive salary package within the FMCG industry, including an annual performance bonus;

  • Top-tier medical coverage for you and your family;

  • Supplemental Life Insurance, extending beyond standard statutory requirements;

  • On site restaurant, plus everyday amenities like fruit, premium coffee, and Mars products to keep you fueled.
