There is an exciting vacancy within the Mars Wrigley Europe, CEAB & Turkey QMP & Food Safety team Team for a MARS Quality Management System (QMS) Senior Scientist. This is an influential role, working across the regional business unit and end-to-end supply chain to build upon and improve our strong foundation of quality.

The job holder will have the opportunity to motivate, engage, and influence key stakeholders and business process owners to improve the Quality of Mars Wrigley’s processes and ultimately the products we aim to consistently delight our consumers with. This job vacancy coincides with the launch of the Globally revised MARS QMS framework and thus provides an exciting opportunity to engage the Mars Wrigley Europe business with the roll-out.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications & Skills

  • Preferably a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Chemistry, Engineering or related technical fields.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to motivate others and influence others without authority.

  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSSC2200 or ISO9000, and Food Safety Management Systems.

  • The applicant will ideally be a Lead Auditor trained by a GFSI-certified/affiliated body.

Experience

  • Experience managing and/or developing Quality Management Systems, including the management of audit programs, Process Creation, leading Root Cause Analysis/CI activities, Corrective/Preventative action leadership, and Risk Assessment formulation.

  • Experience working in a Quality and Manufacturing environment with experience leading teams or a proven track record in leading project teams and coaching teams or individuals.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Acting as the MARS Q&FS QMS Functional Expert for all Mars Wrigley Europe, CEAB & Turkey Manufacturing sites and Regional QMS leads.

    • This includes Facilitating the QMS ‘community of practise’ forum and supporting the implementation of the QMS process across the region’s manufacturing sites.

    • Designing and sharing Best practices or guidance to the Manufacturing Sites with regards to QMS compliance.

  • Lead the new MARS QMS rollout across the Regional Business Unit and support the business to achieve ongoing compliance, whilst improving established ways of working and delivering against key metrics reflected in the BU’s objectives.

  • Lead and support both Mars internal (QMS) and external standards (e.g. FSSC 22000) implementation and compliance activities for the Business Unit.

  • Facilitate Quarterly QMS Management Reviews (including Q&FS incident reviews) in the Region, to ensure transparency and highlight Risks & Opportunities at a senior management level

  • Ensure accurate reporting and roll-up of QMS metrics to the Global QMS Management Review and support Regional BU Q&FS updates and publications (e.g. newsletters).

  • Lead the Regional BU Internal Audit Programme, ensuring the program is executed by trained internal auditors and seeks to highlight opportunities and provide audit finding trend analysis.

  • Driving the Corrective & Preventative Action (CAPA) process at a Regional BU level, seeking ways to improve the visibility, timeliness, and quality of Regional CAPAs.

  • Serve as the Functional Expert in the BU Region for the business’ Lifestyle policies and their implementation across the region (e.g. Kosher, Halal certification).

  • Engaging and supporting Business process owners to support the building of a Quality Culture within the organization; acting as a guardian of quality and facilitating or leading specific initiatives as needed.
