Packaging Engineer (Packaging Quality Management)
Hybrid working – Slough
Salary from £41,000 plus annual bonus and amazing benefits
The Packaging Engineer PQM (Packaging Quality Management) is an important role within the European R&D Packaging Team, working across R&D Packs within Europe and CIS. It will lead the finalization of the packaging quality programme deployment, aiming to harmonize and improve the processes, systems and ways-of-working to get ready for the future with new and sustainable packaging materials. The role will be 70% Quality Process Improvement.
This role will also Line Manage up to 2 PRA technologist contractors, which are working to complete our regional library of packaging risk assessments together with our suppliers to ensure internal standards are compliant.

What will be your key responsibilities?
- Leading the Packaging Development process harmonization & improvement plan, working towards compliance against internal Mars Quality Standards and ensuring proactive external regulatory compliance - considering current and proposed legislation and proposing improvements to ways-of-working and systems.
- Leading the supporting stakeholder engagement, management, communication & training plan.
- Leading a Champions Community within R&D Packs to support on programme engagement, daily project decisions and the improvement ambitions.
- Collaborating and working closely with other functions and individuals regionally and globally within Mars towards compliance.
- Leading the internal and external audit preparation for key processes within R&D Packs.
- Line manage contract resources focused on risk assessment for the current packaging portfolio and support in escalations.
- Continuous improvement on our data and systems for efficient ways of work across packaging.
