The Royal Canin EU Purchasing Operations team is a customer-centric team, connecting all Supply Chain functions, especially Factories, Supply Chain and Purchasing with our internal & external stakeholders. We ensure business continuity, deploying strategy and leading crisis management.

The Purchasing Operations Manager is responsible for the full WET Raws & Packs portfolio working in close connection with the factory in Bruck (Austria), Pet Nutrition Europe Purchasing team and Royal Canin Purchasing team (Regional & Global) and suppliers. The role is to leverage existing connection within Royal Canin / Pet Nutrition Europe (PNE) to improve WoW with MARS Petcare & drive WET Operational effectiveness.

  • Relevant experience working within Purchasing, Supply Chain or Project Management type of roles

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • First point of contact between suppliers and supply chain operations to solve and prevent assigned raws and packs category supply issues, enabling a high-level of service to production sites and driving excellence in Operational execution

  • Be the first line of escalation of supply issues between suppliers and stakeholders (Business Crisis Management lead & assure communication with the business)

  • Assure consistency on Raws & Packs forecast vs WET ROYAL CANIN availability and needs for all BRUCK markets and align Royal Canin & PNE sourcing team on volume need.

  • Be the Purchasing Ops Expert for WET with Global and Regional, Royal Canin and Pet Nutrition, Sourcing managers , Regional Royal Canin and Pet Nutrition SQA, especially focusing on the Supply Risk evaluation and mitigation

  • Development and implementation of inbound pipeline strategies with Supply Chain projects ​

  • Support forecasting activities between the Flow team and Suppliers. Work through issues with Supplier bottle necks or material shortages

  • Own the supplier logistics relationship for material, including communication of material requirements and management of supplier performance.

  • Drive supplier performance management and continuously develop a lean end-to-end supply chain

  • Identify and deliver value chain optimization opportunities (Do It Best savings)

  • Partner with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) associates to manage crisis and regulatory challenges to minimize business impact
