PSR National Key Account Manager – Royal Canin Johannesburg, South Africa

As a PSR National Key Account Manager at Mars (Royal Canin), you will lead strategic customer partnerships to accelerate sustainable, profitable growth across our top National Key Accounts and E-commerce partners in South Africa. You will spearhead the growth agenda for our renowned Royal Canin and Eukanuba brands, champion our customer advocacy model, and collaborate closely with internal teams and distributor partners to deliver commercial excellence in execution.

What are we looking for?

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline, paired with 5–7 years of proven Key Account Management experience, ideally within the FMCG or pet food sectors.

• Account & Partner Management: A demonstrated track record of managing major national retail accounts and successfully collaborating with distributor partner sales teams.

• Commercial & Financial Acumen: Strong proficiency in P&L management, trade expenditure budgeting, ROI analysis, and Joint Business Planning (JBP), with exposure to Strategic Revenue Management.

• Digital & Channel Expertise: Demonstrable experience developing and executing E-commerce strategies alongside brick-and-mortar retail initiatives.

• Skills & Tools: Advanced negotiation, selling, and conflict resolution capabilities, with proficiency in Power BI and MS Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).

• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% for customer and trade partner engagements.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Joint Business Planning & Strategy: Drive and execute comprehensive Joint Business Plans (JBP) with select PSR Key Accounts and E-commerce partners to achieve category growth, volume, and market share targets.

• Trading Terms & Commercial Agreements: Negotiate and implement annual trading terms, distribution centre contracts, and promotional investment plans that deliver quality growth and positive ROI.

• Excellence in Execution: Partner with distributor sales teams through regular trade visits ("inspect what you expect") to ensure top-tier merchandising standards, numeric distribution, and the rollout of the Perfect Store concept.

• Category Leadership & Advocacy: Position Royal Canin and Eukanuba as the strategic brands of choice, driving our "Healthy Start" / "Start of Life" recommendations and shopper education across in-store and online touchpoints.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the pivotal link between key customers and internal stakeholders (Marketing, Sales Acceleration, Demand Planning, and Finance) to align baseline forecasts, NPD rollouts, and promotional activity.
