Summary
The position of Production Supervisor - Fresh has primary responsibility for coordinating the receipt of raw materials and mixing processes in order to meet scheduled production requirements at our manufacturing facility in Auburn, KY. This position is required to provide appropriate leadership, direction, and supervision to fresh team members and to promote awareness and understanding of corporate policies, procedures, and practices regarding health and safety in the workplace. The position is also responsible for ensuring that all ingredients and materials reflect the Company’s quality assurance specifications and principles.
Responsibilities
- Organize the flow of ingredients to achieve established productivity goals
- Complete all relevant required information and/or documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Develop and demonstrate good communication practices and successful internal working professional relationships with departmental staff, including providing clear, accurate, and timely information regarding the status of fresh ingredients being mixed
- Assess the work performance of reporting employees on a regular basis and implement appropriate corrective measures as required, and express encouragement and appreciation when appropriate
- Demonstrate leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring in order to motivate staff and to support the creation of a team environment
- Ensure complete production/maintenance recordkeeping is maintained in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with established corporate and departmental practices and procedures
- Participate in annual physical inventory as determined by the Company
- Effectively and efficiently maintain daily payroll records of direct reports in HRIS Time & Attendance.
- Develop awareness and understanding of the Company’s policies, practices, and procedures related to health and safety, food safety, and the environment
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or business administration preferred; commensurate experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Proven mechanical aptitude and adept with tools and equipment
- Strong critical thinking ability with sound judgment, decision-making skills, good problem identification, and problem resolution skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to accurately complete required paperwork
- Excellent time, organization, and prioritization skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or effectively as part of a team across organization boundaries and with diverse teams within a manufacturing environment
- Certification and/or ability to operate a forklift
- Extended hours may be required at times
Working Conditions
Available to work on the third shift (10pm - 7:30am)
Flexible availability to respond to business needs
Willingness to adjust working hours as needed to support operational requirements
Working inside a clean, modern, state-of-the-art pet food manufacturing facility, with brand new equipment.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
