Job Description:

The Associate in this role will be expected to contribute in the development of winning product propositions through the lens of product design and product performance projects. They will work closely with both central and OE cross functional partners as well as with the other R&D teams across Central teams to deliver projects which are technically robust.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Food Science, Animal Science, Nutrition or equivalent

  • Must be able to support technical project teams

  • Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment

  • Up to 10% travel required

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for delivery of central innovation projects or technical sub-projects, as assigned

  • Responsible for technical delivery of low complexity projects or sub-projects, effectively managing delivery to time, cost and quality whilst working with and influencing key stakeholders. Responsible for effective project and risk management.

  • Responsible for supporting the development of product solutions from initial concepts which deliver to defined consumer & customer benefits. Responsible for experimental design and execution of line trials as well as all associated follow up product testing (pet feeding, analytical, consumer) - as assigned

  • Responsible for generating and being the custodian of relevant product project deliverables across PPM business process (e.g. Technical Risk Assessments, Line Trial Reports, Global Product specifications,, Project plans, )

  • Responsible for understanding and applying pet nutritional needs / internal (WCPN) guidelines, legal legislation and food & people safety considerations to developments

  • Responsible for working seamlessly with Global & Local Marketing, Process & Packaging Innovation, Regional and Site R&D, Commercial, CMI, and Supply to establish product targets and key routes to implementation.

  • Responsible for providing high quality formal and informal communication on progress and status of projects.

  • Responsible for being informed of technological, innovation and business trends, competitive set, trade customers, equipment suppliers and be able to match & apply to development projects.

  • Responsible for working on continuous personal development regarding the latest in raw materials, recipes and process technologies in order to remain informed about the most up-to-date technical standards.

  • Responsible for proactively manage Intellectual Property risks and opportunities.

  • Responsible for building functional excellence in Product Development and Product Performance

  • Responsible for communication (both written and verbal) of key project breakthroughs and findings.
