Job Description:
The Material Tester is responsible for sampling and testing of incoming materials and testing to confirm conformance of finished goods. The role also manages document control for the area of responsibility and ensures these processes are effective and drives continuous improvement to ensure compliance to Quality Management Process (QMP). The Material Tester will:
Partner with Site Supply team, Logistics, Commercial and R&D and other key stakeholders to implement changes such as new process or procedures to ensure testing are working effectively and efficiently.
Provide technical expertise in SAP T&C Cocoa Bean system to key users as it relates to document control and non-conformance.
What are we looking for?
High school diploma and 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing
Competence in SAP Systems
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in science based curriculum will be preferred
Knowledge of GMP, Quality and Food Safety Management, food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, FSSC 22000 and Quality Management Systems
Competence with computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
What will your key responsibilities be?
Manage cocoa bean testing process ensuring timely disposition in system, data trending, non-conforming process and escalation to stakeholders
Responsible for sample collection and preparation of inbound, in-process and finished goods for testing
Update documents, and perform training as required for area of responsibility
Key user of Atlas inbound including report generation and knowledge of inbound system
Key user for the SAP T&C Cocoa Bean system, update cocoa bean testing plans in SAP
Drive continuous improvement in Quality systems for area of responsibility
Work with others to improve processes and systems through innovation, effective change control, research, and auditing.
Maintain Good Laboratory practices, including lab equipment maintenance and calibration programs
Participate in the site sensory program
Responsible for ensuring incoming materials are properly released in a timely manner
Responsible for conducting verification testing of finished, in-process and industrial products as required
