This includes the full spectrum of a culture of health, including occupational health management and clinical services and their governance, healthy leadership, health benefit design/quality assurance, healthy facilities and policies and human energy management. This role is part of the AHWB Leadership Team and partners with key stakeholders across the businesses to design, implement, embed and govern the Mars health strategy. The role works in matrixed collaboration with a variety of stakeholders (E.g. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Facilities, Human Resources, business segment and functional leaders, country and site health services, Security, Benefits, external consultants, and others). The ability to develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders is the key to success for improving the health of Associates, as they are critical drivers for inspiring, instilling and institutionalizing holistic health and energy management. This role is a leadership role, accountable for orchestrating a holistic, population health approach in the region through the team and aligning resources (people and budget) accordingly. The geography includes North America (U.S. and Canada) and Latin America.

What are we looking for?

Minimum: Nurse or Physician with an Occupational Medicine Postgraduate qualification. Minimum 5 years Occupational Medicine experience including implementing both an OH and wellbeing global strategy on a regional basis. Experienced at leading teams.

Preferred in addition: Master’s degree in a Health and/or Wellbeing (eg MPH, MHA, COHN, DO, NP).

Fluent English speaker. Ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese is desirable.

Knowledge/Experience

Experience working in Occupational and population health at the national, regional or international health level.

Demonstrable success delivering programs to assess and control workplace health risks, to treat illness/injury and manage disability, and to maximize staff wellbeing and performance.

Experience in the practical application of best practices, guidelines, innovations, technology, and metrics. Knowledge of relevant regional health legislation.

Established leader with excellent listening and influencing skills. Strong team player.

Diverse experience applying consulting, influencing and stakeholder relationship and management skills.

Business acumen and experience, understanding health & wellbeing in the business context.

Agile and analytical problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Excellent and influential oral and written communication skills.

Clinical knowledge in occupational health, disability management, and wellness.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Lead the regional execution of the global and regional AHWB strategy Enterprise-wide programs. Provide health expertise globally, lead global projects and collaborate closely with peers and subject matter experts on the AHWB leadership team. Collaborate closely with P&O (HR), Rewards, Benefits, HSE and other partners to diagnose, prevent and manage Associate health, safety and wellbeing.

Develop strong and trusted internal stakeholder relationships with both senior leaders and regional executive teams to gain alignment on the business case for investing in health & wellbeing, supporting the strategy and embedding health and wellbeing into their business segment or function’s culture, action plans and processes.

Lead a sizable regional and/or country shared services health team that includes specialists in occupational health, energy, wellbeing and disability. Provide guidance and support that enables all regulatory requirements to be met for each country, ensuring full compliance.

Deploy Enterprise-wide health programs in the region, adapting as necessary. Develop, with country leads, and using available population health data, regional programs to identify and control regional health risks, promote health, and optimize performance/energy as needed.

Demonstrate return on investment through evaluating programs and regularly reporting on process and outcome measures against key targets, including leveraging analytics and research partners.

Monitor industry advances and good practices to ensure proactive program enhancement and innovation.

Leverage formal project management practices and tools to accelerate execution and efficiently monitor and report project statuses, steps, metrics and timelines. Ensure a continuous improvement commitment.

Represent Mars, Inc. AHWB internally and externally with key stakeholders, industry groups and peer organizations, with a commitment to advance the company’s reputation in the areas of Associate engagement, culture of health and employer brand index.

Provide occupational health and preventive health expertise and guidance to leadership and the business at a regional and global level. Ensure that next-level leaders (direct reports) are positioned to successfully provide escalation consultation for the Occupational Health Nurses, Regional Nurse Managers and Disability Teams on complex clinical issues.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 153,600.00 - USD 211,200.00
