Health Services Specialist

Role Purpose


The Health Services Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling integrated health, safety, and wellbeing strategies across the entire BeNeLux fostering a people-centric work environment. This position partners with cross-functional stakeholders - P&C teams, Facilities, Safety & Security, Legal, Leadership Teams and the Global Health, Safety & Well-Being team - to embed health & safety as core elements of the employee experience and organizational success. It also plays a critical role in advancing the RUN HEALTHY framework and local legal principles throughout the BeNeLux to prevent, early detect and minimize work-related productivity loss while complying with legal requirements and organizational policies.

The Health Services Specialist will be an implementer, coordinator and networker, as well as a cultural translator, and a changemaker - ensuring that the BeNeLux is not only compliant but also thriving.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Governance & Enablement

    • Responsible for (co-)leading the National H&S Management Council in line with global policy and the related SAP Health and Safety Management Standard and holding responsibility for the National H&S Budget;
    • This role works closely with local stakeholders and the Global Health, Safety and Well- Being Team;
    • Co-create and execute a national/ regional health & wellbeing roadmap, deliver health, safety, and wellbeing programs aligned with global standards, National H&S Management Council and local requirements and circumstances;
    • Support the implementation and effectiveness of National H&S Management Council(s) across the BeNeLux while ensuring representation from P&C, Safety, Communications, Facilities, and leadership;
    • Support P&C Country Lead in representing health, safety & well-being in the leadership teams and advising those towards a healthy culture;
    • Support country teams in designing, resourcing, and evaluating local initiatives, while fostering cross-country collaboration;
    • Act as a strategic advisor on employee health, safety, and wellbeing to senior leaders in the BeNeLux.

Health & Safety Compliance

    • Manage local compliance with Health & Safety regulations ensuring a healthy working culture and environment;
    • Ensure health and safety risks are proactively identified, mitigated, and reported in alignment with legal standards and local laws in the BeNeLux;
    • Build reports using dashboards and track progress using KPIs, audits, surveys, and incident data;
    • Champion psychological safety and mental health practices nationally/regionally.

Profile Requirements

Professional Experience

    • 3+ years in Health, Well-Being, Occupational Safety, or HR-related roles;
    • Experience in designing and executing national/regional strategies (in multi-national environments);
    • Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks across the BeNeLux;
    • Experienced in stakeholder management.

Skills & Competencies

    • Capability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive positive and sustainable impact;
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team while collaborating with diverse professionals, and building strong working relationships with stakeholders;
    • We win as one mindset, cross-cultural sensitivity, high emotional intelligence;
    • Skilled communicator with facilitation and change management abilities;
    • Fluent English and Dutch language skills;
    • Experience in handling finance and purchasing processes is a plus;
    • Expertise in well-being innovation is a plus.

Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
