About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a National Account Managers – Emerging, to join the Mars Petcare Sales team based in Melbourne. The role contributes to the Emerging & Scale channel strategy by driving performance and partnership with our strategically critical emerging customers.

Reporting to the Customer Director, we are seeking a passionate, agile and driven individual who thrives on complexity. This role provides the opportunity for an experienced and capable sales professional to take the next step in their account management career by owning all areas of the customer relationship end to end. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build collaborative relationships and influence internally to unlock the full potential within our emerging partnerships through exceptional sales and category capability.


Ultimately, success will be demonstrated through the delivery of growth targets, and the development of strategic relationships across a broad cross section of the FMCG Pet marketplace that embed Mars Petcare as a category partner of choice.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree qualification in commerce or business discipline preferred, but not essential

  • Previous sales Account Management experience in complex customer environments

  • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships

  • Strong financial acumen including experience managing trade spend inside fixed budgets

  • Understanding of core category principles including ability to evaluate performance and establish strategies to improve outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to tailor price and promotion tactics to drive improved performance

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Contribute to the total financial performance of the Emerging and Scale channel by delivering against agreed total Emerging internal sales targets, consistent with customer external RSV, GP and growth expectations

  • Conduct end to end omni channel account management of the Emerging customer portfolios including all areas of promotion, execution, category management, digital acceleration, and NPD/distribution

  • Identify pet and online category solutions that drive long term sustainable business growth for Mars Petcare and our customers, and translate these into action through collaboration and partnership

  • Contribute to the S&OP process through ownership of demand planning responsibilities
