Job Description:

The Data Governance Lead reports to the Data Quality and Governance Officer and will be responsible for development new and deploying existing Governance processes and solutions to support Digital Core program. The role holder will actively educate and promote available governance tools for Mars associates. Data Governance Lead main focus will be to scale deployment of Master Data Governance processes and solutions. The role holder will work with Data Councils, Stewardship organisation and Digital Core Transformation office to embed Master Data Governance Process into new ERP processes, effectively resolving possible conflicts.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in Master Data Management and/or Data Quality initiatives spanning multiple data domains in a complex multi-national corporate environment with proven experience in governance
  • Skilled in creating and documenting standards, processes, and data models.
  • Practical knowledge of Product, Customer, Vendor and Finance data domains for FMCG type organisation and change management frameworks
  • Familiar with Data Quality dimensions Data Management Maturity model
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, fluency in spoken and written English, any additional language is an advantage
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple diverse teams including: Data Champions, Data Stewards, Project team, Transformation office / Governance Team, Offshore Developers.
  • Experience with metadata management and governance tools is a plus
  • In depth experience with modelling and reporting tools is a plus
  • Working knowledge, Data Steward or Ranger qualification in Collibra platform is a strong advantage

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Data Governance Lead will identify areas that require Technical Stewards and work with stakeholders and Governance office to fulfil these roles.
  • Data Governance Lead will identify required training and onboarding required for technical stewards and will provide existing or develop missing training materials and documentation.
  • Data Governance lead will engage with Business Functional owner to identify gaps in Data Ownership framework deployment and facilitate creation roles and document them in Mars Data Wiki governance platform.
  • Data Governance Lead will work with Business Functional teams review, update and deploy CDE framework within business functional areas, managing updates to CDE metadata in Mars Data Wiki.
  • Data Governance Lead will monitor and report CDE cleansing progress to Business Functions stake holder through agreed KPI Dashboard setup.
