Manager, Supply Chain Human Rights

Job Description:

The greatest social and environmental risks in Mars' value chain reside in our global supply chains. The ambitions and strategies that support our Sustainable in a Generation Plan are designed to better understand and manage those risks. The Supply Chain Human Rights Manager Is responsible for leading our program to mitigate forced labor, child labor and health and safety risks within Snacking’s direct and indirect global supply chain.

This role will provide program leadership for Next Generation Supplier in Mars Wrigley. This program enables Mars to obtain deep insights on the sustainability performance of key suppliers coupled with collaboration to improve management systems and working conditions.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international relations/international business, supply chain management, or other relevant field; Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
• Fluency or near-fluency in English and Spanish is critical; proficiency in a Portuguese or French is beneficial
• 5+ years of working in Sustainability; ideally with a special focus on Human Rights.
• Demonstrated understanding suppliers and buyers’ perspectives In Commercial context
• Excellent data proficiency and ability to handle complex data sets
• Ability to Influence peers and 3rd parties without direct authority;
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy global policies/processes within a multinational organization.
• Previous experience working in complex supply chains is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.
• Confidence presenting to executive stakeholders, with strong stakeholder management skills
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a multi-cultural and cross functional environment.
• Analytical skills for issue identification, along with flexible thinking to adapt to changing environment.
• Clear communicator with written and oral proficiency.
• Up to 15% domestic and global travel.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Drive the change management, communication and training necessary for Commercial teams to embed Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in objectives and supplier partnerships.
• Set targets, align segment glidepaths, and measure and report Mars Wrigley progress in expanding the coverage of our HRDD program, working towards complete coverage of prioritized raw materials, indirect services and suppliers, as well as supporting mergers and acquisitions
• Manage robust digital process to monitor, manage and store data; and manage dashboard of key performance indicators; track suppliers activated and scored. Lead quarterly reporting for HRDD KPIs
• Serve as a dedicated expert on Tier 1, supplier Human Rights risks and mitigation strategies and advise Commercial teams and senior leaders.
• Acts as co-pilot to commercial for HRDD, serving as the point of contact for buyers and representing Snacking HRDD program in commercial process including tendering, contracting and supplier relationship management
• Monitors supplier compliance to Mars’ Human Rights policies and procedures, including the Mars Code of Conduct and other required international labor, social, health and safety, environmental regulations and/or standards.
• Oversees HRDD governance requirements, working across functions including commercial, legal and public affairs as required facilitating escalation.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
