Here’s the scoop - Summary
The Manager, FP&A is responsible for preparing financial analysis, business reporting and facilitating operational financial reporting.
This position supports the Director FP&A/Treasury in managing short term and long-term financial planning processes (annual budget, latest estimate updates, strategic growth plan).
Provides analysis of financial performance against key performance indicators and distills results into insightful, actionable recommendations.
The Manager, FP&A works out of our Corporate office in Edmonton (AB) or Nashville (TN) or Louisville (CO), works a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-person and reports to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Reporting and Analysis
Facilitate Corporate Reporting and KPI monitoring.
- Responsible for reporting and analyzing financial statements and corporate results, including sales volume and revenue, cost of goods sold, ingredient, packaging, and manufacturing costs, selling, general, and administrative expenses.
- Facilitate the monthly business review process, reporting financial performance to the executive team and parent company.
- Prepare monthly financial and operational KPI (key performance indicators) reporting, and monthly management report packages to key stakeholders.
- Partner with accounting team to enhance ERP data capture and facilitate additional FP&A reporting.
- Facilitates corporate business reporting, acting as the key financial resource between IT and financial reporting users. Identify business reporting needs and facilitate report development with IT.
- Provide adhoc management analysis and recommendations – what if analysis, scenario planning, business case review, etc.
- Coordinate with Global regions to manage regional reporting and KPI review.
Financial Planning
Manage Corporate Financial Planning
- In consultation with the Director FPA/Treasury build the detailed annual budget and long term financial strategic growth plan.
- Manage financial planning software to facilitate budget building and corporate analysis. Act as a key corporate expert for any questions related to the software.
- Support Director FPA/Treasury as the primary FPA contact for all corporate parent enquiries. Ensure Champion presentations and submissions align with parent’s guidelines.
- Support corporate assessment of risks and opportunities as they emerge and help manage impact to financial performance.
SGA Cost Control Partner
Drive SGA cost savings
- Along with the Director FPA/Treasury, own SGA reporting and corporate management of SGA spending.
- Develop process and actively propose cost saving initiatives, corporate benchmarking, etc. to manage spend.
- Meet with key stakeholders to manage spending and identify opportunities.
Other
- Mentor, develop and manage junior staff as required.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum five years’ experience in a finance role.
- Minimum two years’ experience within the consumer-packaged goods industry preferred.
- Very strong financial writing skills. Ability to tell the story around the numbers.
- Experience with ERP systems, including reporting tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
- Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to develop and sustain successful internal and external working relationships.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Working extended days and weekends as necessary.

Earnings:
US: Salary range from USD$84,000 to USD$116,000, 401k with Company, and donation matching.
Canada: Salary range from CAD$108,000 to CAD$149,000, RRSP with Company matching.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
