Job Opportunity: Site Logistics Manager
Location: Birstall, West Yorkshire (On-site)
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £56,000 - £70,000 (DOE) + Bonus + Benefits
We are seeking a Site Logistics Manager to lead and transform the logistics operations at our Birstall site. This is a pivotal on-site leadership role responsible for managing inbound materials, finished goods outbound logistics, and short-term production planning across a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Logistics Team responsible for inbound materials, UK and export finished goods outbound, and short-term planning of 10 production lines.
- Drive supply chain transformation by creating and implementing a new site logistics strategy, integrating operations, supply chain, finance, and engineering.
- Own the two-week short-term production planning process, balancing production priorities with market requirements through negotiation with central planning and site leaders.
- Manage supplier relationships and operational performance of prime material deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with EU legal and regulatory requirements for the movement and export of Category 3 animal by-products, including post-Brexit customs requirements.
- Oversee the site Logistics Conversion Cost operating plan budget and lead recruitment, onboarding, development, and succession planning for your team.
About You
- Proven experience managing teams within a high-volume manufacturing, FMCG or supply chain environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team.
- Expertise in supply chain transformation and strategy development.
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of EU export regulations and compliance, particularly post-Brexit customs requirements.
- Ability to manage complex supplier networks and third-party logistics providers.
- BA/BSc Degree (or equivalent) In Supply Chain/Business/Engineering or similar subject
