As a Chemistry Laboratory Scientist at Mars, you will play a crucial role in contributing to groundbreaking research projects that shape the future of a #betterworldforpets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing a variety of laboratory methodologies and processes with precision to meet research project requirements.
  • Using scientific knowledge to provide valuable input during project discussions, collaborating with Senior Research Scientists and Laboratory Research Scientists.
  • Driving validation of new methodologies, contributing to development, refinement, and troubleshooting of relevant processes.
  • Conducting method development and troubleshooting expertise, specializing in LCMS or GCMS.
  • Maintaining key laboratory equipment for optimal operation and carrying out preventive maintenance.
  • Providing high-quality training and support to fellow laboratory scientists on methodologies and laboratory practices.
  • Communicating research data effectively to internal stakeholders through written communication or presentations.
  • Ensuring regular communication with the Principle Investigator on project progress.
  • Maintaining a detailed electronic laboratory notebook in adherence to WALTHAM guidelines.
  • Collaborating with the laboratory team to drive efficiency and optimal working practices.
  • Contributing to written reports and scientific publications to support the Principle Investigator.
  • Adhering to QMP and HS&E requirements, supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality and safety initiatives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Hands-on experience with GCMS, LCMS, and various extraction techniques.
  • Familiarity with aromatic flavour compounds and GC-O analysis is desirable.
  • Previous laboratory experience, with research environment exposure being highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey scientific messages accurately and clearly.
  • Effective time management skills, navigating obstacles to ensure project delivery.
  • Method development and validation experience is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data handling software (e.g., Python or R) is a plus.
