Consumer Technical Insights is a key function within R&D that transforms consumer & technical insights into foresight to create, design and deploy holistically superior products that solve real consumer problems and that consumers love and want to buy again and again. This role will lead the CTI Global team, define and deliver strategic and project-based insights and guidance for R&D to drive the medium- and long-term innovation programs for our global brands. It will also be responsible of generating the right insights on current core portfolio to ensure holist product superiority of current portfolio.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Food Science with consumer-relevant training, Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Consumer Research or equivalent

  • 10+ years experience in sensory, consumer science or consumer technical insights

  • Proven track record of building collaborative external business relationships

  • Working knowledge of the consumer (qual and quant) and sensory research techniques used for consumer insight, claims and new product development projects.

  • Programme management

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Fluent in English (verbally and written)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, e.g., communication, relationship building, networking, teamwork

  • Demonstrable Science/technology and business/marketing experience understanding

  • Previous LM experience – Desirable

  • Experience within a category R&D function, knowledge of the category and Foods business - Desirable

  • Creative ability for new ideas and to translate consumer knowledge into actionable insights

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Create and Lead a CTI program that defines and delivers the insights and strategic understanding needed co-creating a Consumer Insight plan with CMI to drive new growth and innovation opportunities including foresight.

  • Lead the F&N CTI program and team, acting as consumer advocate on global projects to translate consumer needs into technical targets to deliver superior products that win in the market and successful innovations.

  • Collaborate with R&D functions to identify opportunities for new products and claims that help support the F&N strategy and drive growth and shape strategies.

  • Alignment on global methodologies, WoW, performance targets and internal and external capabilities needed to deliver products that win in the market and are worth paying for.

  • Partner with experts and agencies to apply and develop best practice and new consumer/ sensory methodologies including new digital approaches.

  • Build and embed technical skills and capabilities in the team, whilst also leading transformation of CTI capability on new consumer and product insight approaches to deliver more for less.
