Regional Dry & Wet Technology Engineer - Your next role at Mars?
Reporting to our Guararema Supply Director, this Health, Safety and Environmental Manager role will plan, lead, and manage the implementation and maintenance of global and national HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and standards in accordance with corporate guidelines as well as ensure the Guararema site's compliance with applicable legal requirements regarding occupational safety and the environment at the municipal, state, and federal levels.
This position is 100% on site, based out of Guararema, Brasil.
In this role, you'll work on...
Strategic Leadership & People Development
Lead and foster a strong safety culture by driving the Safety Observation Program, Site Safety Committee, and specialized EHS training.
Engage, develop, and mentor direct reports (Associates), promoting a high-performing team environment.
Represent the site in regional and global alignment sessions to implement new industry standards, directives, and Mars policies.
EHS Compliance & Operations
Act as the Technical & Legal Representative for EHS matters at the GUA site, maintaining an active registry with the respective professional council (CREA/CRQ) and managing relations with municipal, state, and federal environmental bodies.
Ensure 100% compliance and drive continuous improvement across all Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) management systems.
Oversee site environmental compliance, including industrial waste management, water resources, and wastewater treatment systems.
Maintain and update the site’s Emergency Response Plan (PAE).
Governance, Risk Management & Budgeting
Drive incident investigation processes (Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) and lead action plans stemming from audits and inspections.
Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing to assess risks on new projects/modifications and ensure pending safety actions are executed.
Manage the EHSS budget, contract performance (site security, waste, fire systems/CCTV), and identify cost-saving and sustainability opportunities.
You?
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or other Engineering fields is required.
Required Specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering (Engenharia de Segurança do Trabalho) with an active professional registration.
7+ years of experience working in similar HSE positions,
Fluent English is required (global/regional interaction).
Hands-on experience with Management Systems & Audits, specifically ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
Previous team leadership xperience required.
