As the Health Affairs Lead for North Europe (UK & Ireland and the Nordics), you will be at the helm of defining and executing external scientific engagement strategies. Your role will also involve crafting an internal education and training roadmap to elevate the

technical expertise of our Associates, thereby enhancing Royal Canin's scientific reputation across the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics.

In your capacity as a people manager, you will lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of Health Affairs Managers across the cluster. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

As a member of the Royal Canin North Europe Corporate Affairs team, this role will work in partnership with various teams across the cluster to ensure our Health Affairs plan and operations are fit for the needs of the cluster while delivering on agreed set of contents to drive at scale efficient use of existing resources.

This role is an integral part of the Royal Canin Corporate Affairs team in North Europe and reports to the Corporate Affairs Director, a member of the Leadership Team.

What are your key responsibilities?

Drive internally and externally Scientific education in the cluster:

  • You will define the scientific communications strategy and develop, implement, and measure the annual Health Affairs plan.

  • Through the Health Affairs team, you will oversee the development of all scientific communication materials and trainings for the cluster Associates

  • You will make sure the Health Affairs team provides the necessary technical/ product support by adapting and producing content and materials on the respective platforms, provide trainings for Associates as well as to external stakeholders (pet owners, vets, students, breeders).

Collaborate with key internal stakeholders:

  • You will have close collaboration with the Vet Pillar teams to ensure an overall Health Affairs agenda and communication plan encompassing veterinary customers, KOLs and Universities.

Enhance Scientific trust and Product experience externally:

  • You will plan and supervise the production of technical and scientific articles for trade magazines and vet media in alignment with other internal teams

  • You will represent Royal Canin at local conferences/exhibitions, and be the scientific spokesperson with specific media, when necessary

  • You will build the engagement strategy with external stakeholders and ensure that the Health Affairs Team develops strong trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and industry groups

  • You will build a plan to ensure we’re a supportive partner for universities in ensuring there is a high level of academic excellence in nutrition You will work closely with regional European and global Health Affairs partners to embed ways of working, share information and benefit from guidance and playbooks while joining a Health Affairs regional community.

Great Line Management and Team Leadership:

  • You will be responsible for the engagement, growth and development of our Health Affairs Associates.

  • You will build and deliver the Health Affairs teams’ plans and operating targets, ensuring resources are aligned in a manner that leverages company and customer strategies.

  • You will be a promoter for self-development and peer-to-peer mentorship in Health Affairs and across Corporate Affairs Team.

What knowledge and experience are required from you?

  • You will have experience in the veterinary industry / Animal Health/Human Health & Nutrition Scientific role.

  • You will have People Leadership experience.

  • You will have knowledge of Royal Canin products and services (ideal).

  • You will have a proven track record in successfully engaging external partners through Professional Associations in a scientific context.
