This role focuses against the core SRM pillars of Promotion and Trade Terms. As part of SRM Center of Excellence, the role collaborates closely with GMs, Sales Heads, CFOs, local SRM and Sales Finance leaders to deliver annual Growth, Market Share, Promotion & Trade plan commitments, build local SRM capabilities and monitor SRM progress & action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

This role has the following critical areas of responsibility:

Drive & embed top quartile Promotion & Trade Terms capabilities within Mars PN

  • As part of the Global SRM COE, design and codify key SRM capabilities related to Promotion & Trade Terms, spanning organization design/talent, processes systems, and tools usage, and create associated upskilling material
  • Provide expert guidance to inform design of advanced digital products (promo events performance, promo slotting & mechanics optimizer, gross to net performance, trade architecture simulator)
  • Routinize and Digitize SRM best practices to enable faster and more efficient execution in all markets.
  • Ensure effective transfer of knowledge and capabilities, sharing top quartile practices among global community of Promotion / Trade Terms analysts
  • Establish relationships with other CPG companies and other Mars segments to continuously upgrade our digital, analytical, and SRM capabilities with respect to net price realization through Promotion & Trade Terms levers
  • Maintain central knowledge repositories at a team level to ensure knowledge management. This includes lessons learned, project documentation, (competitive) Promotion & Trade Terms activity, SRM scorecards etc.
  • Share and adapt best practices from other segments and collaborate on projects and initiatives when appropriate
  • Ensure transfer of skills within the Global Pet Nutrition SRM team and actively support a strong, professional team culture

Support impact realization of Promotion & Trade Terms initiatives across markets

  • Partner with local entities as they establish brand-tech promo guidelines and trade plans to improve trade investment productivity, supporting thinking as needed
  • Provide ad hoc support for complex Promotion & Trade Terms initiatives across markets, eg TPM implementation, etc.
  • Contribute to definition of relevant Promotion & Trade Terms KPIs to monitor value
  • Actively follow Promotion & Trade Terms initiatives progress and support mitigation planning when needed

Shape priority initiatives to launch in upcoming years

  • Identify opportunities to further enhance Mars PN capabilities and create actionable recommendations for portfolio promotion and trade term strategies, leveraging fact-based insights and analyses
  • Proactively suggest to local SRM teams new initiatives to optimize Promotion & Trade Terms performance
