Job Description:
This role supports the Petcare Head of Nature and regional sustainability teams in delivering the Nature components of the Healthy Planet agenda. In particular, the position advances Petcare’s deforestation- and conversion-free (DCF) commitments across key commodities (palm oil, pulp & paper, beef, and soy) while also driving progress on land-use change (LUC) greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
What will be your Key Responsibilities?
Palm Oil & Derivatives
Lead implementation of the Palm Positive strategy for the Petcare segment
Collaborate with external partners (e.g., the Consumer Goods Forum and Earthworm Foundation) to enhance data collection, traceability, and DCF compliance
Drive the development of Petcare-specific approaches to deforestation-free palm
Pulp & Paper
Support regional teams in collecting, validating, and analyzing pulp & paper sourcing data
Lead the transition to digital tools to improve data quality, transparency, and reporting efficiency
DCF Methodology & Risk Assessment
Support the development and continuous improvement of DCF methodologies for beef and soy
Supports research of the expansion of the scope of deforestation commitments (e.g., embedded soy, grains)
Engage technical stakeholders including satellite data providers, GIS specialists, NGOs, and commodity platforms to strengthen risk assessment approaches
Nature Research & Strategy
Conduct country-level land-use and nature risk assessments to inform business decisions
Contribute to the development of a global nature strategic framework for Petcare
Technical Leadership & Advisory
Provide expert guidance on forests, land use, and geospatial analysis (GIS), including GHG LUC
Monitor emerging standards, tools, and best practices related to land-use change
Influence both internal stakeholders and external partners to advance leading practices on forest and sustainable land management
What are we looking for?
Advanced degree in GIS, Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related field
5–10 years of experience in forests, land use, or natural resource management
Strong experience in LUC GHG accounting
Advanced technical expertise in GIS, environmental monitoring, and impact assessment
Proven ability to develop practical, user-friendly tools and methodologies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Fluency in English and Spanish required
