Reporting directly to the MGS Commercial Finance Lead, the Global Finance Business Partner is responsible for financial business partnership to the MGS Commercial – Indirect Europe CIS and Global GPO, SET, I&A Team. This includes providing strategic insights and guidance that drives optimal financial and business performance for total Mars through MGS Commercial activities. In addition, this role will lead financial planning, reporting, and forecasting and deployment of standardized financial processes for this MGS Commercial Region.
Finally, this role is responsible for overseeing compliance with financial governance to protect Mars’ assets and report accurate financial results. The jobholder is part of the MGS Commercial – Indirect Europe CIS Regional Management Team (LT), SET leadership team and will be expected to engage with Regional and Global Stakeholders, including Regional Segment Presidents, CFO’s, and Commercial Leaders to explain financial methodologies and performance
What would be your key responsibilities?
Provide Strategic Insights and Guidance to the MGS Commercial Regional Management Team
Influence and partner with the Regional Commercial Head (RCH), and full Regional Management Team (MT) to deliver on commitments.
Lead and drive regional change initiatives to create and sustain world-class procurement operations and improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
Apply business evaluation and strategy tools to diagnose business situations, identify risks and opportunities, and formulate/recommend strategic options to the Regional MT.
Establish strategies and execution/methodologies for the regional team and align improvement strategies to MGS Commercial Global.
Lead and Deploy Standardized Financial Processes to the MGS Commercial Region
Lead financial planning, reporting, and forecasting for this Region’s operating costs that are aligned to its strategy (Annual Execution Plan - AEP) and drive achievement of its Productivity Plan (P&L, Inflation Mitigations, One time CASH).
Understand and pressure test key assumptions in AEP and Productivity agenda.
Leverage centralized MGS Finance teams to report accurate operating costs.
Apply analytical techniques on savings and operating costs to derive financial insights and recommend timely business decisions and investments that drive optimal financial value for total Mars Inc.
Coordination with Regional MT to provide insightful periodic commentary and forecasts that will be included in standardized MGS reports.
Engage with Regional Stakeholders to Build MGS Commercial Brand Equity
Work with Regional MT to prepare the ASP (Annual Savings Plan) Alignment and Value Creation communication decks for the Senior Regional Stakeholders – ensure accuracy and credibility of reported financials.
Articulate/explain financial methodologies and performance to Regional Stakeholders, including Regional Segment Presidents, CFO’s, and Commercial Leaders.
Share best practices and influence standardization of MGS Commercial S&F processes across Mars Stakeholders.
Provide Governance Oversight and Escalation of Issues when appropriate
Assess and prioritize financial risks to ensure protection of critical company assets.
Analyse and self-audit reported savings to ensure compliance to financial methodologies and credibility with Stakeholders.
Partner with Transformation Managers and 3rd party auditor to ensure observations are communicated and savings adjustments are completed in a timely manner.
Review Internal Audit findings, check-in on remediation and ICE rollout progress, provide consultation as needed; escalate issues when appropriate.
Provide feedback on Savings Methodology and ensure alignment to MGS Commercial Global.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor or higher degrees in Accounting, Finance or MBA.
Minimum 6 years’ experience with solid experience in financial management, reporting and forecasting.
Strong analysis skills, Advanced command of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills, SAP experience.
Accounting background.
Experience working in a global function/organization (working across different time-zones/regions/businesses).
Strong verbal, and written communication skill, strong team player.
Fluent English is a must.
