Lead the Design of Tomorrow’s R&D Systems at Mars

At Mars, we’re driven by a purpose to create a better world through food that nourishes people and the planet. As the cPLM Core Scope and Design Lead, you will be the cornerstone in shaping and delivering the right solutions within the Core PLM programme, ensuring our global R&D processes and systems are aligned, standardized, and future-ready.

You will lead the conversations on business requirements, act as the vital link between digital product owners and the broader cPLM team, and help translate Mars’ strategic vision into practical, user-friendly solutions that empower our Food & Nutrition segment worldwide.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Define, own, and drive global processes for the “Int and above” scope area across regions.
  • Provide expert knowledge on designated processes and supporting systems within cPLM.
  • Recommend best-in-class functionalities to support process excellence.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for the cPLM team within the “Int and above” scope across regions.
  • Represent the design team in corporate discussions, Functional Expert Communities of Practice (FE COPs), and key user mobilization and communications.
  • Synthesize and prioritize key design decisions, representing segment positions to the cPLM team.
  • Engage with FE COPs and key users to gather feedback and ensure designs meet regional and categorical needs.
  • Leverage existing communities and key user groups to test scenarios and validate future designs.
  • Use influence and perspective to harmonize processes across regions, segments, and departments, resolving escalations and conflicts.
  • Drive global alignment and standardization within the scope area, collaborating closely with global process owners, digital product owners, and change managers.
  • Partner with cPLM teams to develop functionalities and analytics that deliver enterprise-compliant, aligned, and user-friendly solutions.
  • Support change management efforts and communicate product changes at key milestones.
  • Lead the definition, alignment, and implementation of data responsibilities and processes to ensure R&D data quality, accessibility, and control—including data cleansing and migration.
  • Promote a data-driven mindset across the function by simplifying and clarifying the R&D data ecosystem.
  • Influence Mars’ data strategy and management practices in partnership with segment and cross-segment stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Food Safety, Food Science, or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 5 to 10 years’ experience in core scope areas with strong knowledge of business processes.
Experience across multiple regions and global environments is a plus.
  • Systems Savvy: Familiarity with Mars R&D systems.
  • Project Delivery: Experience delivering business transformation projects, especially IT-related, is desirable.
  • Data & Reporting: Experience with dashboards and reporting is advantageous.
  • Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead peers, collaborate effectively, and resolve conflicting positions.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business processes, systems, and change management.
  • Networking: Skilled at building rapport remotely and delivering projects through others.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written English skills.
  • Mindset: Creative, flexible, and thrives in a complex, fast-changing environment.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.

  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.

  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
