Job Description

Description

At A.P. Moller - Maersk, we are dedicated to delivering excellence by ensuring our customers, partners, and internal users receive seamless and consistent experiences across all touchpoints. In this role, you will contribute significantly to our commitment to user-centric design by providing the right tools through innovative solutions and a variety of technologies. As a UX Designer, you will translate user needs into intuitive, consistent, and scalable experiences across Maersk’s digital ecosystem - spanning internal tools, engineering platforms, operational workflows, and customer-facing products. This role requires a proactive and autonomous UX designer who is comfortable operating in a lean UX setup and owning end-to-end design work. You will translate complex user and business needs into intuitive, scalable, and high-quality experiences, while actively contributing to the evolution of UX maturity within the team.

As a UX designer in Maersk, your responsibilities will include:

·User Research & Insights: Conduct user interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability tests to understand user pain points, generate personas, journey maps, and actionable insights from the findings.

·Experience & Interaction Design: Create comprehensive end-to-end workflows, wireframes, and high-fidelity interfaces while ensuring all outputs align with the Maersk Design System, established patterns, and accessibility standards.

·UI & Visual Design Excellence: Apply strong UI and visual design skills to create polished, consistent, and aesthetically high-quality interfaces, with strong attention to layout, typography, hierarchy, and visual clarity while working within the Maersk Design System.

·Prototyping & Validation: Build interactive prototypes in Figma and validate concepts through rapid, iterative testing cycles.

·Collaboration and Alignment: Partner with product owners, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure designs address real user needs and business goals, and support alignment through workshops, discovery sessions, and design reviews.

  • Ownership & UX Strategy: Take ownership of UX for defined product areas or features from discovery through delivery, contributing to prioritization and design decisions while working effectively in ambiguous problem spaces.

·Documentation & Handover: Produce clear design specifications and interaction requirements and support engineering teams throughout development.

·Evangelize Design Culture: Promote a user-centered design culture by championing design thinking, developing UX frameworks, and contributing to reusable design assets and playbooks.

  • Continuous learning: Continuously stay ahead of emerging UX trends, omnichannel design best practices, and advancements in AI‑powered design methodologies

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Solid foundation in UX research, interaction design, prototyping, usability evaluation, and design documentation.
  • Design Tools & Craft
    • Strong mastery of Figma as the primary design tool for all UX and UI work, including wireframing, high-fidelity design, prototyping, and developer handover.
    • Hands-on experience with Figma Make or similar AI-assisted design workflows for rapid ideation, iteration, and concept development.
  • Strong UI and visual design capabilities alongside UX skills.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into simple, human‑centered solutions.
  • Comfortable working in agile, iterative product development environments.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively drive UX work forward.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in UX design, ideally in enterprise, engineering, data-driven, or platform environments.
  • Experience working with design systems and component libraries.
  • Exposure to complex workflows in logistics, operational systems, engineering platforms, or internal tooling.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or experience designing for AI‑enabled products.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools used in UX workflows (e.g., AI-assisted research synthesis, prompt-based UI generation, automated usability insights).
  • Experience working with usability metrics and customer feedback loops (e.g. SUS) is a plus.
