Job Description
The Time & Attendance Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant recording of employee work hours across the organization. This role supports employees, managers, HR, and Payroll by maintaining the timekeeping system, troubleshooting issues, auditing timecards, and upholding labor and pay‑rule standards. The administrator serves as a subject‑matter expert in time and attendance processes and plays a key role in payroll readiness and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Maintenance
- Maintain and administer the company’s time and attendance system (e.g., ADP eTime, ADP Workforce Now, Workday Time, or equivalent).
- Monitor system integrations, punch imports, schedule updates, and accrual balances.
- Configure and update pay rules, schedules, holiday calendars, and time-off policies as directed.
- Partner with HRIS or IT on system enhancements, testing, and troubleshooting.
Timecard Review & Payroll Support
- Perform daily and weekly audits of employee timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and resolve exceptions, missing punches, incorrect transfers, and approval gaps.
- Support Payroll by ensuring all time entries are complete and validated before payroll deadlines.
- Assist with retroactive corrections and adjustments as needed.
Employee & Manager Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for timekeeping questions, system navigation, and policy interpretation.
- Provide guidance on PTO requests, schedule changes, shift differentials, and attendance rules.
- Deliver training to new hires, managers, and HR partners on timekeeping processes and best practices.
Compliance & Policy Alignment
- Ensure adherence to FLSA, state labor laws, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements (if applicable).
- Maintain documentation and audit trails for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate timekeeping data and explanations.
Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and analyze time and attendance reports, including exceptions, overtime trends, attendance patterns, and compliance risks.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support workforce planning and operational decision‑making through accurate time data insights.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience with time and attendance systems (e.g., ADP eTime, ADP WFN, Kronos, Workday Time).
- Strong understanding of timekeeping rules, FLSA overtime requirements, and attendance policies.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data cleanup).
- Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and customer‑service mindset.
Preferred
- Experience supporting multi‑state or complex operational environments.
- Familiarity with Workday Time & Attendance (highly desirable).
- Experience with system testing, configuration, or implementation projects.
- Knowledge of union rules or shift‑based operations (if applicable).

Pay Range: $65,100.00 - $118,000.00*
*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
