Technology Operations Specialist

We are looking for a passionate, professional IT Operations Specialist with high drive, can-do attitude and excellent IT and Business understanding.

We operate within a fast-paced environment, where we have focus on all our services and we are expected to react proactively and effectively with high quality on all requests and incidents addressed to Onsite IT.

You'll be based at our office in Rijeka, where, as the person responsible for 1st line support, you will be a vital technical resource keeping the office running smoothly.

An important aspect of your role will also be ensuring compliance with relevant security processes and tools. The position involves a variety of ad hoc tasks within the IT department, such as PC configuration and general IT support both indoor and outdoor.

There may be support needed outside regular office hours, so flexibility is key. If the systems or infrastructure fail, the terminal halts. In other words, you play a crucial role in ensuring the offices are running smoothly.

You’ll play a vital and valuable role in performing initial troubleshooting and handling incident and requests, as effectively as possible. You are expected to take ownership and use your extraordinary collaboration skills to ensure that business will be able to deliver and run smoothly.

You will join a team of eight colleagues across different countries Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Greece.

What we are looking for:

Technical Skills

  • Advanced desktop usage / VPN & Citrix / Mobile Devices / Windows 10
  • Strong knowledge of setting up PCs, including BIOS configuration, Microsoft operating systems and connectivity (LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of the most common PC accessories and how to connect them, i.e. printers, mice, external drives.
  • Microsoft office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, Teams, Project, Visio).
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge on use of AV equipment (meeting rooms)

Organisational Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of the organisation’s working and diversified business requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge about current business processes in the Maersk Group.

Personal Skills

  • High sense of urgency.
  • Professional communication, customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Time management
  • Ability to work with people at all levels in the organisation.
  • Ability to work and operate independently
  • Excellent prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in taking end-to-end responsibility for issue resolution
