The Role
The System Engineer plays a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing the systems that keep our terminals running smoothly. This role blends technical expertise with collaboration, governance, and continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with IT, OT, operations, and business teams to ensure system reliability, enhance performance, and support ongoing automation and digitalization projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to ensure high availability
  • Support and maintain business applications and related interfaces
  • Ensure integrity of equipment control system integrations and automation standards
  • Handle incidents 24/7, including root cause analysis and service‑level compliance
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors for defect resolution
  • Execute upgrades, enhancements, and changes under global change management/ITSM
  • Keep applications updated and support release management
  • Create and maintain SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Implement security policies and best practices across environments
  • Identify operational risks and drive mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with IT, OT, operations, and business teams for system integration
  • Support continuous improvement and gap identification
  • Apply Lean and ITIL-based practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • 4–5 years of technical application or functional administration experience in medium-to-large organizations
  • Previous exposure to automated or complex terminal environments is an advantage
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies or ITIL frameworks
  • Knowledge of cloud environments, virtualization, and containerization
  • Strong understanding of business applications across commercial, finance, engineering, and BI domains
  • Basic DBA skills (SQL, Oracle), including queries, table modification, views, backup/recovery concepts
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot a wide range of applications and database-related issues
  • Understanding of systems supporting Finance, OPS, and TECH environments

Key Competencies

  • Agile mindset with working knowledge of SCRUM or Kanban
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience leading sub-projects (e.g., GOS, ERP or system integrations)
  • Knowledge of project management, change management, and escalation processes
  • Strong documentation mindset across implementation and operations
  • Excellent organization, time management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistent results
  • Team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills
